Is it time to reconfigure the stadium ??

Is the Family (Lineker ??) Stand too big ?? Seems to me, looking from the Kop End, that quite a few empty single seats are dotted around for matches that are declared a sell-out (including last match vs Man Utd when fans were outside holding up 'tickets needed' signs). Perhaps that end needs to be reconfigued down to three, or even two blocks, and open the vacated space to STH, Members, or just those that buy match by match ?? M1 always seems to be sold out when the away club don't take up their full allocation, which I believe is the case for the Palace match. Seems the demand is there, especially if advertised well in advance.

Is it possible to reduce the away corner to 2,100 rather than the full 3,500 for every match ?? Is the club instructed to give up that many seats to the away club ??

ps. this is not a swap the Kop with the Family stand debate

Have a mixed zone like Fulham and let away fans sit in with L1 or in the Kop

The mixed zone is probably the most pointless idea ever at a football match, no atmosphere at all, might as well watch it on tv.

It's not surprising there are more and more "no shows" this season. I've missed quite a few this season (and literally haven't been able to give my tickets away!)

The club have to give 3000 (I think it is 3000 or 10% for smaller stadia). If the away club return some then we release them for general sale (I think)

I walked past lots of Yanited fans that day, whilst having a spare in my pocket. But I didn't see anyone I fancied sitting next to, so the seat went begging:D

A few of the Supporters groups spoke to the club about splitting the away fans across two tiers once the ground has been expanded to break them up and stop them singing as coherently.

I think there will be changes once the ground is sorted.

I love the irony that supporter groups want to split up away fans to make them quieter with the home fans deliberately ignoring the mirror logic and splitting themselves in to three separate singing sections.

Split across two stands. Keep them where they are and just out sing them.

Going filbert strèet over the years i remember when ever the away end started to sing the kop would sing the song or a song louder. It was like whatever you sing we will sing better and louder hearing the away fans starting a chant back then got everyone fired up to sing.

Oh, that's something being adressed too :)

That's going to be fun. So what the going to do have none singing areas ejection if your caught.

The reason it's split is some want to sing next to the away fans and others think it's the kops place. Forcing people to move will be fun.

Would be nice if the 90% or so of home fans could just outsing them.

I don't understand that surely having sing from away support help build a atmosphere in the ground, I rather we focus on improving our sing to match or better them.

Agreed, imagine the atmosphere without the away fans singing... our fans simply don't sing very much its pretty much always been like that since the move.  Even away from home we're pretty ordinary.  Just the way it is.

The whole point of a home fixture is to have the advantage, not give it to the away team through a greater collective support.

The only issue with the family stand is the ticket restrictions. There's always going to be empty seats because you "Have to be accompanied" by someone who meets the family stand guidelines (i.e under 16 i beleive??)

So for example I can't rock up on match day and get a ticket despite there being loads of tickets left in the family stand.

That's exactly why it's time to remove a block or two and give it over to the rest of the fan base.

Surely having 29000 supporter to sing over 3000 is an advantage?

It's 2 over 18's to an under 18, you then pay for the privilege to be stopped and ticket checked thoroughly every time you enter.

It's a good rule in theory, but it gets broken and abused a hell of a lot. Wouldn't hurt to make those spare available to general sale, if "families" won't be sitting there why let the seat go to waste.
