Always Next Year Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 (edited) Here is the next laugh for us all. The Mirror now reporting that the reason Harry is playing in all of our pre seasons games is so that he hits the ground running once the move to Man U is done.. ?????????????????? Matt Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 It’s not within our interests to compromise, why would we compromise?

La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 (edited) It won’t happen now, it’s too late for us to get a replacement. The media have hyped this up because of the lack of transfer activity. The crooks of it are, one bid has been made, it wasn’t enough, so Man United can frankly, Mr. Shankly **** off. Edited 27 July 2019 by La-li-lu-le-lo

Lesta2014 Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 Rogers said nothing changed so I believe him over daily mail. If Maguire still a leicester player for Atalanta game he stays imo

DerbyshireFox Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 Maybe they’ll come back in maybe they won’t, the longer it goes on, the likelier the “shove your £80million up your arse” chant at Stoke today becomes reality. No time left, no deal. Put up or shut up and move on will be the message I’m sure 2
Vlad the Fox Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 I’d like to bet absolutely nothing has happened for some while now.
UniFox21 Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 I feel if they pay the money we wanted at this point (and it's accepted), they've just wasted an entire pre-season of Maguire settling in. Even if United get their man, this simply highlights the lack of organisation in their recruitment.
splinterdream Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 if the add ons are based on CL qualification then they've got every right to be concerned

Puel actually did a fantastic job and we'd identified exactly what we needed, and brought in the best we could get nice and early. We also brought in some great youth prospects late in the window. United on the other hand have signed just 2 young players, one with HALF a good season in the Championship, the other with ONE decent season in the Premier League and for an exorbitant fee. A fee that justifies our valuation of Maguire. They've signed none of their other targets and still have to move problem players on. They've had a mare. 5 1

Exactly, Puel took his half year and identified what we needed to advance as a team. Ultimately, he got that by the January window with Youri on loan. But we now have a clearer strategy of bringing through younger players. You've highlighted exactly whats wrong with the recruitment. They buy "hype" players as I describe them, those who have attention, generally on social media or through the media. James may well come good for them, but as you pointed out he's had half a good season. AWB at Palace has had a good season and they've paid a lot for him. These signings would be great if they bought experienced pros to complement the younger players. But their recruitment is so bit part and lacklustre that again they're spending big money, but not getting what they need. They're doing the same things over and over again, but expecting a different result. The definition of insanity. 1

Brendan had no problems playing Maguire with the B team when it seemed likely he would go...if a deal was close, he would have been in Rotherham today. 2
Ian Nacho Posted 27 July 2019 Posted 27 July 2019 I think another Maguire thread needs to be created where actual relevant news is posted wasting my life scrolling through this.
