Maguire to Man Utd / Man City

If Man Utd were selling Maguire to Barcalona, how much would they want for him? That's how much he's worth.

They are more spend happy than Utd at the minute so we'd probably squeeze a bit more out of them.

It’s clear what’s going to happen here. You’ll buckle, and ‘over pay’ for slabhead. He’ll either drop an clanger 1st game (he is prone to the odd one btw), or get injured (again, he’s had a few niggles). Press will come down on him like a ton of bricks. Big H’s confidence will plummet. We’ll be laughing all the way to the bank. Ole out for Xmas. New manger will get the best out of Harry. You’ll recover and finish 6th we’ll probably finish 8th

Lovely media trying to dismantle the smaller clubs and unsettle the player at any given opportunity. 'Harry desperate for move' 'Harry frustrated with Leicester' 'Harry wishes to become Man U player' all whilst he is in training camp smiling for photos and has not publicy said anything.

Why is our club at fault? The media titles should read; Man U desperate for Harry, but both Leicester and Harry happy until Man U finally cough up. Leicester frustrated that Man U will not meet valuation of player?

Man U set a silly precedent signing Wan Bissaka for £50m. Then they expect us to roll over for one of if not the best English CB, WC Semi Finalist and future Club & Country captain.

Simple as that.

If Harry does go, the media unsettlement wont, it will just move on to Chilwell, Maddison etc until we are back with a mediocre squad of average players and not a threat to the traditional top teams.

Nah - we'll be 7th, 2pts behind Utd going into the final game of the season against them. Maguire scores for them from a corner, then Soyuncu equalises early in the second half. We're pressing hard for the winner and United are holding firm, until the 91st minute when Tielemans threads a perfect pass through to Vardy on the edge of the box. Maguire brings him down giving away a penalty (after VAR confirms it was inside the box)  which Vardy then slots away with the last kick of the game, with us leapfrogging United to finish 6th and take their Europa League spot...

I was listening to Talkshite earlier. Jim White was saying, " I can't understand Leicester they seem a reasonable club, why don't they just let Maguire leave".

There's only a couple of presenters that are any good. The rest are awful.

This is what you are up against with the crap you get from the media. Jim White has to say controversial stupid things to justify his job. Some are as arrogant as the supporters of the so called big clubs. The richer clubs all have double standards, that is how they work and stay rich. The stupid presenters perpetrate this rubbish by supporting the actions of teams like Man U who are so arrogant that they can demand an obscene amount for their player who’s contracted to them, but other teams Leicester we can’t do the same. Well it is backfiring on them, we do not need to sell and they are desperate. These are the teams who tried to reduce the TV payments for the teams finishing further down the league, so they would have less buying power and not threaten their positions amongst the elite, that did not work!!

Even for middling teams, have tidy sums of money, these are the new normal. According to Deloitte, 17 of the 30 highest-earning clubs in the world last season were from the UK, so the current top six are shaking in their boots in case the middle table upstarts start attacking their crowns. When the table turns their will be a lot of unhappy supporters, who have spent the last 20 gloating!!!

There is already loads of crap about Maddison. I think our FB is pretty good for £6m, probably going to be as good, if not better than WB and we had a saving of £44m!! There are probably going to be big changes over the next ten years and some of the current top six may not be around the top six by then?

It's bizarre. It's not unlikely that this is all a self-perpetuating series of increasingly brazen fictitious reports with almost no founding whatsoever.

Starts off with United interested in Maguire and Maguire keen to go if LCFC accept an offer. Fair enough, thats believable. But then a story (lies) comes out saying he's frustrated. Then another saying he's going to put in a transfer request. Then another saying he's had a bust-up at the training camp. Each one building on the last to be more and more sensationalist, all the while Maguire is having a laugh at Belvoir drive and playing Fortnite in his downtime, oblivious to it all. Wouldn't surprise me if by the end of the window we get a headline along the lines of:

"LEICESTER hold Maguire HOSTAGE as they demand £100m RANSOM from UNITED"

It is all fluff. Trouble now is, thanks to social media, fluff is incredibly easy to create, and even less accountable than mainstream media.

Still beats Sky Sports mind.

To be fair, United signed that Daniel James fella for a relatively low price which looks like it could be good business.

The problem is that they seem to think that a single signing in that mould solves all their issues and they can go back to splashing the cash on the rest (like £50m on AWB or £70m+ on Maguire when there are far better value-for-money deals around). If they're going to go down that route they need to make it a sustained philosophy, not just once-in-a-blue-moon (heh) transfers,

Who actually really cares what is written? If Harry goes it will be for a world record fee and we could use that money to strengthen the overall squad. Let’s just ride the wave and see what happens.

You have just come up with and idea for a website or publication called the rest or something like it saying the reverse view and saying stuff like you mention I’m pretty sure to anyone outside the top six it would make a bloody good read

Behave.

We would be very disingenious if we expect 80-90m for Harry, who is an important player for us, and whom we do not want to sell, but then expect Brighton to sell their own important player AND captain for a trivial fee.

You have to pay the market value if you want the player, not necessarily the true value of the player and like us Brighton probably do not need to sell. I also doubt we would be interested.

May have been poorly conveyed, but that was my point. We cannot say we want X for Harry, then try to set Brighton's price for Dunk. Also agree, doubt he is a target.

What then is the 'true' value of the player if it isn't the market value? And what is the relevance of this 'true' value?

When you say, "we've had a bid accepted", it looks we are buying him ! Do you mean, we have accepted a bid ?!

I suppose that what happens when you're not an ITK - ITK's know we're not buying him !

The point today is that some arsehole has fed these lines to sky sports

sky didn’t make them up

was it Man U or was it maguire’s agent

my money is on his agent - so where is Harry’s loyalty ?  With his agent or with us ?

these ridiculous ‘quotes’ have taken things to a different level - quite honestly, I find them bizarre - what exactly is the point of them?  The only thing that occurs to me is that maguire’s team think that the deal may not get done and want their client to stay ingratiated with the yanited fans for another go in the future. They don’t want them to think that Harry didn’t push hard enough for the deal to be done.

can anyone give a different explanation for what purpose they serve within an ongoing negotiation???
