But it was clear from the get-go that we were never really in this. Which hurts. All of the positivity and joy evaporated after the opening few minutes.

 

Should've done better from the start or at least after half-time. Dreadful performance on the whole. Kudos to Newcastle, they've earned it.

Credit to Newcastle, Rafa got the tactics spot on. They pressed Ndidi ridiculously well and we just couldn't keep the ball.

One thing I noticed was nacho made a couple of great runs but he was ignored every single time. It's almost as though the players don't trust him which for me is a big issue.

We were always 2nd or 3rd favourites for that 7th spot going into this but it's safe to say Europe's a write-off now.  Gives Brendad carte blanche to work on developing the squad for the rest of the season.
