Keep Gray as a squad player, unless another silly offer comes in from Bournemouth again, and try actually to to aim for a proper talent instead of signing a PL flop because Rodgers gave him his debut 5 years ago.
Analysethis Posted 12 May 2019 Posted 12 May 2019 He hasnt fulfilled his potential but when a guy is sold by Liverpool and not loaned, you know the staff there dont rate him that highly. On top of that, he cant even command a place at Bournemouth after a 15m transfer so has been by-passed. I hope there is no truth to this rumour as we have two players on our books with more potential and who arent regular starters in Gray and Barnes.

I like to think all of the others are just what it appears to be, paper talk. There will be lots of agents out there pushing for new deals, better contracts or looking for new clubs by putting feelers out. I am sure BR will look to improve the squad by buying 2 or 3 top quality players.

turtmcfly Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 Played 7-a-side with him once (he's from round Bermondsey and his mates play with us from time to time). He was on loan from Liverpool at the time (at Birmingham as I remember) and while he was undoubtedly ridiculously skilful, not all of his opponents were as razor-sharp in the tackle as yours truly. Part of me thought his playing with us was touching (and a little bit sad) but at the same time it was pretty idiotic. An accident waiting to happen - which ought to be the title of this thread.

This is what I've been trying to say; why spend decent money on players similar to ibe who give less than gray. We either stick or go for broke on a big name who will significantly more rather than gambling 15mill on a Ghezzal again
