Playing rice and Henderson today would have been like brendan picking wild and hamza last Saturday .... or Claude selecting wild and Papy v Cardiff ..... it’s negative, overly safe and send the wrong message to the players

'Agricultural clearance' and 'Barkley just squirted the ball over'...I'm a bit unsure on the commentary here. As strange as when commentators incorrectly use the word manipulate or describe a pass as 'cute'.

1 up because Bulgaria ****ed up. Final ball is shit. Kanes movement is shite. Sterling has lost the ability to control the ball. Rashford has been anonymous. Rose has been the main attacking threat and he can't cross.

We seem half asleep, almost walking pace in the final third. 

Kane seems to be tied to the ground.

Not sure what Rashford is doing in all honesty, his biggest contribution was shooting way over the bar.

Was proper buzzing to watch a new look England side on Saturday evening.

 

Not even bothered to switch it on from the moment the squad was announced.

Interesting point from Dixon on the Bulgaria chance. Rice supposed to be the defensive midfielder and he getting caught out, and then not tracking back.

I didn't think playing for mid table teams made you a shoe in I thought playing for top 3 clubs like Leicester and Liverpool meant you would play, but obviously not. Trent, Madders Chilwell, Sancho come on and save us from the boredom.

Glad I haven't bothered watching. Southgate should do what he promised to do ie pick people in form. Alexander-Arnold, Maddison and Sancho should have been in over Tripper, Barkley and Rashford on that basis. Not a fan of Rose either. Not sure why Chilwell has lost his place to him after previously being first choice.
