We’re not catching Man City or Liverpool, much less both, but there’s no harm is dreaming as long as we keep our eyes on the prize (which is 3rd-4th).  Build as big a cushion as possible on the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, who are the biggest threats for those spots and our real rivals this season.

there is enough games left for anything to happen yet obviously its a massive task but I wouldn't say its impossible we are only 2 behind man city for starters

Soyuncu is genuinely my new favourite player, so happy he scored. I say this with no sense of disrespect or bitterness but I firmly believe him to be an upgrade on Maguire. Man's a beast. Huge result against a very tough team. X

Me too especially when I had him at 50/1 for first goal . Only a quid on though but better than nothing

last para - blimey that's a negative view. I can't see BR even considering it and Arsenal won't do it just yet. Having said that I hope we do beat them (but as you say, by "not a lot" so as to not embarrass them into triggering Emery) ::rolleyes:

I agree, what I mean is be prepared for every press conference and for every match coverage to be full of the speculation. It shouldn't be distracting but it's unwelcome, while I trust the mentality of our squad you just don't want any potential doubts.

Thinking of those "records" we broke, Hodgson and Cahill not losing to us and the one of being pants at Palace. When these things happen it's hard not to get the feeling that something special is happening.

I do think it's going to be very very tight, Spurs will have a better 2nd and 3rd third of the season than their 1st, Arsenal should be capable of a higher points per game ratio than they currently have and Chelsea are clicking together nicely. Today was vital, I've always said avoid silly results such as losing twice to them (Palace) last season and we'll find ourselves right up there.

If we beat Arsenal and they sack Emery prepare for the Rodgers rumours and even if they have no foundation we should be prepared for them, everything is rosey at the moment, we could do without any boat rocking and as we know the media have agendas (did they claim their Agents fee for the Maguire transfer?)

Let them yell and scream. Rodgers is going nowhere. Just when he's starting to get the club hitting on all cylinders. This is what he came for. Not a bigger pay check.

So thrilled for Demarai and his assist - two in the last 5 days. He was a beast on Tuesday - he created the first two goals with a couple of brilliant passes to the eventual assisters. He also had an assist quite unfairly attributed to Barnes against Burnley when that was all his IMO. Quietly improving his output and having a great season so far.

Good man-management maybe?

I reckon if Gray has the patience, BR will bring out the best in him.

Right up there with Tim Cahill on sky, who at half time felt palace would be the happier.

How on earth did he pass his screen test? He delivers punditry with all the pizazz of a history  professor lecturing on 18th century wool quotas

Thought it was Louis Saha that said that, not Cahill. Maybe you're right as I wasn't fully concentrating at the time but it pricked my ears up when I heard it. Couldn't believe the nonsense being spoken by a so called expert pundit!

The stars seem to be aligned with this team. Some super young talent combined with proven EPL vets, and a manager who has a knack for getting the best out of his talent - and probably feels like he still has something to prove.  I really like the grit they're showing.  They score and there's no let down, they just keep grinding.  Forget for the time being that you have 2 loaded clubs that don't look like they're going to drop points anytime soon - right now you start to get the feeling that anything may be possible.

Three things I just loved today that will prob be overlooked:

That first half move; flick from Barnes and outside of boot First time pass from Maddison to set Vardy away

That pass from Tielemans to Vardy in the first half.

The pass from Praet and Chilwell's control when chilly hit the post

Nope. Saha read the game perfectly and said we were the happier and expected us to win in the second half
