Except the land isn't owned by the city? It's owned privately?

Councils kop to much flak and 90% of the time it's because people have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. It's incredible

That's a great story, Peter Soulsby.

Really bland looking designs.

the only redeeming feature (if kept)

Wonder what the architect's brief was?

'We want something dull, bland and forgettable. A total cop-out. Oh, and don't forget to make it look ugly and cheap,

'Maybe incorporate the old football ground entrance just to emphasise how far we've regressed in the last 100 years'

Maybe the club ought to consider a multi storey car park as part of its stadium expansion plans. I suppose that would hinder the aesthetics of the possible arena and area surrounding the stadium.

That would lead to even more fans leaving early!

Isn't the housing inside the new training ground itself?

Theres accommodation for 1st team players and certain accommodation space for academy but they are also after of site houses. A mate of mine was approached for his by the club, they also apparently made a late bid on the old convent in rearsby as well but it's already being converted having been on the market for ages.

Seems they missed the boat on that one.

On site parking doesn't work.

Dig an Underground car park...Encourage fans to Not Drive alone...Bring a Full car, 1/3-2/3 off Parking price..!! Mis-use Double Parking price!!

if a Shopping Center/Mall was added, the Businesses should Stamp ticket for Non fan reduction...

% Of reserved Parking place for opposition fans. 5-10% reduction on Full car..(Bring uninterested wife/friends/Relations  to Shop or visit city/Mall)

Sponsors..LCFC,Local Business,City council

Slight improvement on a rubbish tip, sadly still no nod of any kind to the old ground and it's LCFC history.

In years to come no one will know that this was the site of LCFC for 111 years.

Oh wait Soulsby will probably put up a Blue Plaque, Oh wait a blue plaque commemorating the former Leicester City football ground at Filbert Street was installed at the site, but it has since been removed.

I feel like I'm going ****ing mad looking at this from that PDF - can someone confirm that this map is way off and that what they've highlighted as "King Power Stadium" is just that housing / office block off Bede Park? The King Power should be off to the bottom right of this, surely? Am I being thick?

Yeah that's not the KP at all lol

As you say it would be bottom right. On the wrong side of the river for a start lol

The picture of the Leicester Royal Infirmary on Page 17 looks good as well. Been a while since I've been but it's changed a lot in that time.

No, it's correct. I went there last week for my typhus vaccination.

Plan is for a Fern called Rodney, in the entrance lobby.

There is now a sign, I noticed (not sure how long its been up), on Raw Dykes Road. Shame it's ended up with Leicester stickers all over it.

Wish I'd read this comment before spending 10 minutes thinking I had dementia or something. What the hell is this map?!

The three blocks named after Shilton, Banks and Heskey was encouraging to see. Hopefully this will be in addition to the iconic entrance and not instead of. It’s perhaps more likely to be a case of the latter though.
