KFS Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Just now, Foxxed said: Four wingers and two defenders on the bench! 😂😂
Livid Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 No problem with that team. Solid at the back, bolstering the midfield, two up front.
Dan Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 We're doing far too well for me to moan or be too questionable of him but that's an odd one. Seems very bizarre if it's the usual 4-3-3 to have that personnel. I wonder if it's a 4-3-1-2?
Finnegan Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Meeeeh. Very, very unsure. Peformances have been a bit underwhelming last few games, I understand shaking up the front three. Not sure we should have done it by pretty much killing our width though. I hope it's a diamond with Madders central. Slightly concerned he's gonna be left wing, though, where he's frankly useless. Fingers crossed. Will be a tough game today, a draw wouldn't be an awful result.
Guest Eamonn Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 This is a big game for Nacho. He needs to build on his Everton cameo. Not necessarily a goal but a decent performance , making an impact.

IsItMuzzy Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Can become a 3 at the back with Ndidi slotting in if we're caught on the break with our fullbacks high up the pitch. I imagine Praet will be asked to do a bit defensively as it's never really seemed Tielemans strongest asset. Will be an interesting watch.
Harry96 Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Interesting line up. Villa set up looking like they’re going to try stop us with the defensive midfield. Buzzing for nacho hopefully follows up god performance from last week

Look forward to seeing how it works! He'll be behind the front two. TIelemans and Praet on the wide side of the diamond.
kingfox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 interesting line up. Not surprised to see him go for three central midfielders though, obviously put Praet in, in case McGinn and Grealish start to control things. Will be interesting to see how Maddison, Iheanacho and Vardy work together in this different system.
lifted*fox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Praet in to help Ndidi neutralise Grealish / McGinn? Take them out the game and they're weak.
PaddyS Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 It might not be a diamond. Maybe Vardy up top with Maddison and Iheanacho behind him. Good to see Praet in, him and Ndidi should keep the Villa midfield quiet.
Guest An Sionnach Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Could be Wilf in a back three with Pereira and Chilwell as wing backs, Praet holding midfielder.
Collymore Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 I bet Villa are in panic mode after their week of wasted tactic/shape work in training
RowlattsFox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Front line needed freshening up. Obviously not sure about Maddison on the wing but have looked forward to having Ndidi, Praet, Tielemans and Maddison on the pitch at same time selection should give us control in midfield.
GorlestonFox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Would have preferred to see Hamza on the bench instead of one the 47858263 wingers! Is he injured?
Fox in the North Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Come on Leicester! Let’s make it 8 on the bounce. Make those early chances count this time!

Be interesting to see how Vardy and Kelechi play together. That’s my fear too. Madders drifting wide on the left, because Praet often drifts to (or plays on) the right while Tielemans only plays in the middle areas.
brookfox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Surely Hamza is a better option in the be ch than one of the wingers?!
North Leeds Fox Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Hmm very interesting line up. Their full backs appear to be their weakness so would have thought we could have got chances from wide areas. Not going to argue with brendon though. Really hope nacho comes in and plays well.

Kasper Ricardo Evans Soyuncu Chilwell Ndidi Praet Tielemans Maddison Nacho Vardy Probably something like this. Played this way at the end of the Spurs game to win. Notice how there is no Barnes or Perez, so definitely 442 Diamond. Very interesting. Hope to see Harvey and/or Demarai at some point!

Yep that could be the logic behind the move. This is deliberate so there has to be something in it. Villa however, do not play a diamond as sometimes that is one reason to pic kit - to mirror the opposition system. Appreciate the worries from some on here, but I can tell you now that Praet was very specifically signed so that we had the option to play a diamond formation if we wanted to. At Sampdoria last season they played a diamond and statistically he was one of the most creative players in that league in that system. At Liverpool he also used the system many times. Usually the system means a bit less possession but more of a direct goal threat. On paper that sounds good against a team who has just come up from the Championship. Will it work out today? Can't say until we see it in action! But Nacho was electric against Everton and Praet usually impresses when he plays, even if he was a bit lackluster against Watford when coming on.
cstrafe Posted 8 December 2019 Posted 8 December 2019 Anyone catch Carragher's interview with Rodgers on Sky? Great stuff.
