Low risk, insurance loan deal, Prem experience and dependable by the sound of it.

Where's  the fire?

Just fans being very hyperbolic and unreasonable just because we're not signing someone that's 1) a 'wonderkid' to borrow the FM term or 2) already world class. Despite the fact that if you want either of those, you're already going to pay a premium for them, let alone the January transfer window premium where teams know you really, really want that player.

I think it could turn out to be an astute signing. Low risk is an important part of it, too. Very little outlay considering it's a loan deal and we have a decent back-up player.

It's quite annoying seeing a player written off before they've kicked a ball. Time and time again it happens and it means those fans make it very hard for that player to prove themselves to the acceptable standard you'd generally see. To almost impossible levels sometimes.

Exactly , I really find it incredulous, yet I should be used to it by now 🤣

Came around to this now. Hopefully Benkovic plays every week at Bristol city, we get an experienced CB for the rest of the season.

when wes is back, who’s getting on the bench? Surely we wouldn’t bring bennet in and then drop him from the squad ?

My biggest concern about him is he's not very good on the deck and with the way we play out from the back surely that's  not going to suit him and that's why wolves aren't playing him.

He's not first choice and for valid development and fitness reasons for Benkovic as opposed to merely sitting on a bench, it's a sound signing imo. He was well thought of at Wolves and can do a job should he be required to.

It's obvious now that Demiral was our top target during this window until his unfortunate injury. I think we will go back to Juventus for him in the Summer if his recovery is going ok.

If Bennet measures up we'll keep him also to improve the squad further for very little money.

Bit of a better pedigree, former league winner 2 times and German international who played at the world cup

Almost like that was my point...

Bit of a little transfer insight here, call me the secret footballer, it's a hunch - but I don't think clubs announce transfers as soon as a medical is done.

Hopefully he didn’t borrow Curtis Davies’ Satnav..

Well, Bennett isn't the fastest of defenders.

Don't panic everybody!!!

I think this is a complete wind-up by the club just to keep this thread going right up to the deadline. Another six pages as the forum degenerates to a state of panic?

Rudders probably got the paperwork on his desk and just waiting to push the button. Watching this thread on his computer as we type and having a good laugh at the lot of us!!!

I would imagine if Benkovic is going on loan to Bristol City the two transfers will be submitted simultaneously.

Rodgers has actually improved Wes's ability on the ball at the age of 35, so there's a chance he could improve Bennett if he hangs around after this season.

I do agree with you but we've managed to fit Evans into our side despite his obvious flaws in possession.

I think we've been over playing it out from the back and getting into trouble. Someone who clears it more crudely might sometimes be welcome divergence (especially if his tonks occasionally release Vardy).
