The 3 at the back tactic clearly suited us when we had Ricardo, Chilwell and Soyuncu available yet we went out of our way to shoehorn Bennett (a man we all know has only ever played in a 3 at the back) into our side to the detriment of any attacking intent from the wings and Evans (my POTY).

Boils my piss. He should be nowhere near the starting 11.

I thought Evans was poor today gave the ball away unpressed at least 3 times.

Agent Bennett was doing so well for Wolves but he went rogue after his plan to help Wolves finish above us didn’t work. He was then tasked with helping us win against Spurs so he could get Wolves into Europa and he failed with that too.

Can I point out that the guy was backup to the backup, and we clearly never expected to have to play him Wes, and Evans, expecially without Riccy P and Chilwell.  Injuries have ****ed us, not this guy.

I'll ask the question though, why bring someone this shit in and loan out Bencko (who might have been equally as shit (doubtful) but it wouldn't have wasted everybody's time).

Benko is ours and we want him to get better?

Evans was poor at Bournemouth, I thought he was okay against Blades though.

It's a fair point. I think people expect us to have 4 or 5 centre backs at the level of Evans/Soyuncu. It's not going to happen at a club like ours.

Send him back. No where near good enough for the Premier League. Would be top class in the Championship mind.

True.

Injuries have fvcked us for the most part. But even if you are a back-up, you're still expected to play to a specific standard. Bennett didn't reach that standard today (and only today, I'm not sure what else he's done that badly in other games that's worse than anyone else). He was fine on Thursday.

Any team who loses 3/4 of their first choice defense and their back up left back is gonna struggle. Add on top injuries to madders and Albrighton and the odds were always stacked against us today.

I thought we looked ok. Dangerous in front of goal as loris pulled off some cracking saves but we lacked a bit of steel at the back.

I'm not a huge fan of Bennett, and he had a mare today, but perspective is needed when you look at the game overall.

One of the worst players to pull on a city shirt since Ade.

We must have had about 2 or 3 hundred worse players since akinbiyi.

I m thinking this is probably going to win the award for the most over the top post today....

I can line up the greater rubbish thats played for us since Ade from here to the moon and back.

Not the worst, no, but it's perhaps the most out of context signing in years.

The equivalent of Man Utd or Chelsea signing Kingy for the run in.

Utterly bizarre.

If my missus offered me that deal then I’d bite her hand off. I’d fix the leaking tap and look forward to my reward the next day.

I'll certainly grant you that, but even then I dont think anybody expected him to play - he was at least 3rd choice sub with no intention of ever actually playing him voluntarily. Im not in any way making excuses for him, just that we got fringe quality performances from fringe quality players

Barely a premier league player let alone a player for a team in the top 6. He should be looking at a higher end championship side. His mistakes today were just unacceptable for a guy age 30.

We really should have bought a defender when maguire left even if it was for cover (if he didn't think benkovic was ready) Bennett is just about championship quality and that's being generous

I'm reluctant to throw him under the bus and he seems like a decent lad.

I think he was meant as a backup (and proved it thoroughly) and unfortunately found himself  under the spotlight because of our injuries/suspensions.

Nevertheless send him back, as he's far, far away from what we aspire to.
