I guess I'm the only one who misses watching Leicester City play then?

surely that's not a "little thing" on this forum, though

I think that we all do is a given.

Going to 999 calls without being covered by mask, gown, gloves and overshoes each and every time and the patients not being able to see a reassuring smile or expression, in particular with children.

Being able to go home in my uniform and have a shower and change into my own clothes rather than have a shower at work, change into my own clothes, then go home.

Not having to worry too much about what I might be exposing my family to.

And a night in the pub after 5 a-side with mates.

And when everything was so easy that we took so much for granted.

You do a job that I don't think a lot of us could ever imagine doing at the best of times

Miss my girlfriend, we're not that far away from eachother but not living together and we're both rule following Christians, so no breaking of rules yet. Only been together for 6 months so this is a big chunk of time and definitley testing.

Going to the gym. Just not the same trying to keep fit/workout at home.

As my post in the running thread proves, I'm also missing the gym.

Just being able to go out when you feel like it. I know you probably could get away with more than one exercise or walk per day because most people act normally and not like cvnts but you don't know what your neighbours are like and you may be grassed up so planning for one walk a day is a shame. When I was off work (holiday/ weekend) I'd usually go out three/ four times a day, will be very glad when we're able to do that again.

In contrast to some, I don’t miss the supermarket, before this it seemed at weekends whenever we went out it involved a trip to Tesco or Aldi plus two or three times in the week. Last time I went in one was the Saturday before Mother’s Day. We manage to do all our shopping using local producers (butchers, veg etc) and the local shop for other bits.

What I do miss is the little chats I’d have with people as I’d go about my daily life, and watching the kids play football.

I miss my girlfriend.

4.5 weeks now. I envy all those moaning about being stuck with their partners 24/7.

Get married, have kids and then lets see how strongly you feel about that lol.

If you have been then fair play.

I will say though i have got a great relationship with my wife but things get mundane and boring when you got little ones cutting into you 1 on 1 time haha.

As for what i miss, just going out and about anywhere with the kids/wife or meeting up for some wings and pints with the lads.

Mines gardening related too, I'm still clearing mine but struggling coz the recycling centres are closed.

And I have some beds up and running now, I have runner bean seeds, but I ain't spending £25 on 10 canes when I normally get em under £5.

I also struggled to get me usual seeds this year due to many selling out online and the shops being shut. Managed to make do but it's definately weird.

Quite fancy a maccy Ds too which is extremely sad to admit 🤣

Mum .She has been diagnosed with cancer during this.Fairly upbeat but just visiting, making sure she is fine and thinking normally she would have her friends over.

Mates

Being a rep, rather than helping in the factory which is bloody hard graft, and tedious.

football

walking in a supermarket

Had to drop my mum off for Chemo but needed a piss.

normally as a rep you use Supermarkets as a piss stop.

What a nightmare that was!

Commuting to work on the train where i recognise everyone, all the moaning time wasters in the office (i miss you so much), taking a dump at work, walking around the city at lunchtime, the gym, reading the evening standard, watching sport, going to pubs/restaurants, seeing a cheap deal for a holiday or event and booking it instantly, making plans, stopping by a shop to pick something up, not evacuating onto the road when you walk past people in the street

Just going home for a few hours or staying overnight at the weekend. Don't think I've ever gone this long without setting foot in Harborough, really miss the place.

I hope your mother gets better mate. I had the same with my mother 5 or 6 years ago. It can be a miserable time.
