What Puel is stating is that there has been no contact between the two Clubs. So unless St Etienne agree to talk and a fee is agreed, young Wes ‘ain’t going nowhere, despite his very public announcement. One thing Puel is correct about is, this is a Soap Opera.
Guest SO1 Posted 13 September 2020 Posted 13 September 2020 All up to the player and how bad he wants it. St Etienne and maximum drama Go figure. Looking at that wage sheet Puel might want to hire personal security for training.

I know he's only a young lad but flippin' eck!!! No wonder he wants a move!!! https://www.google.com/amp/s/salarysport.com/football/ligue-1/saint-%C3%A9tienne/amp/ Blimey! I wonder how recent that article is given that he signed a new contract in April? Regardless, we could offer him a contract that would pay him more than anyone at ASSE is earning.

According to the recent reports, Fofana's new deal is €75k a month which is about £16k a week - supposedly he's upset because new signing Aouchiche is on €80k a month. He reckons we've offered him 3.5x that salary so would put him on £56k a week.

If we can you use Wilf as an emergency CB (given we have Cags/Evans and Benko) we can splash the limited cash On a striker and another winger?

But then we're a bit of bad luck away from Morgan and Benkovic in defence. Personally think we need to sign Fofana, Cags/Evans/Fofana is significantly better than what we have. 1

And for the first half an hour we looked doggo. Papy is ok in certain games but he isn’t the answer with wilf dropping back into CB for most prem games

We really need to stop relying on Morgan, he should be an emergency player when we're in trouble, if he's playing 20 games this season we're in trouble. I love the man but if we're serious about getting into the top 6 again, he should not be a regular. 4

Scotch Posted 13 September 2020 Posted 13 September 2020 Playing two CB's with Wilf sitting in front of them giving us the option of him dropping back to make a 3 mid game with the wingbacks getting forward more. That's the way to go. Ricardo Fofana Soyuncu Castagne Ndidi Turning into..... Fofana Ndidi Soyuncu Ricardo castagne 1

Seems to me that Saint Ettiene set a €30m price for him after the cup final and told Wes he could leave if someone met that price. We’ve met it and now they seem to be refusing to let him leave, so they haven’t kept their word. I think that’s why he went public. Nothing like we did with mahrez or maguire, there was always a price we were willing to sell at. But that’s exactly what we did to Mahrez? Mahrez kicked off in newspapers saying we refused to honour the “gentleman’s agreement” he had with the owners. This is the same thing.
