TBF as accurate as those stats probably are I'd rather use a different source than Guido considering they called the US election last year for Trump about halfway through the count.

I'm signed up to get the Vaccine on Monday through the city i work in. I am absolutely thrilled, I thought I would have to wait until the summer at the earliest.

Maybe some normalcy on the horizon?

For 2nd round polling En Marche are on something like 53%.

Odd that Brexiters seem so excited that FN might win considering they're definitely not far right.

Yeah. To be honest I'm rather amazed at how many places simply didn't understand the mechanics of postal voting and how it was going to play out.

Thats true, I doubt National Rally could ever really win given the run-off system, bar some massive catastrophe. The moderates and left would almost always vote against them. Whilst I don’t want them to win I’d hope someone less antagonistic than Macron would defeat him.

His politics aren't really my cup of tea but I've enjoyed him telling American liberals to **** off.

I'm not sure why we're supposed to hate him.

He's a smarmy Frenchman, what's not to dislike? lol

To be fair I didn't have strong feelings either way until he started trashing the AZ vaccine for no reason, now I think he's a twat.

If you're not fond of smarmy politicians who deal in untruths I have news for you...

This culture of people grassing up their neighbours for the most minor of breaches really bothers me. I fully understand it if someone is having a gathering or if you're seeing different people regularly coming in and out of someone's house, but something like this is in no way comparable.

The sooner March 29th comes around and we're able to meet up outside the better. I'm sure even the police are fed up with having to deal with this sort of thing.

Turned down a 2nd offer of getting the jab today (daughter works in the NHS and arranges appointments). I had covid back in January and it was nothing, just a dry cough and a slight loss of appetite, I`v had worse hangovers....

I`m not one of those "antivaxxers", I encourage people to get vaccinated but, I just know my immune system is top notch and I do not need it. I also look at stats and not media shizzle.....

I`m getting some grief from my daughter though lol

You might feel that you don't need it, however, evidence points to it cutting transmission. So why would you not get it for the benefit of others, if by your own admission you aren't anti-vax.

Of course it's your right to choose and you don't need to justify things, bit just interested.

Does the potential introduction of vaccine passports/docs not bother you. It's pretty much certain to happen.

It`s not about me feeling that I need it, I know I don`t need it. I have the antibodies in me so why do I need a jab? . Are we all going to have 2 or 3 jabs a year just so we can go down the pub?

Transmission? What does the vaccine do to reduce transmission compared to someone like me who has had it?

How long are your antibodies going to last? Do you still have them? Do you know?

How would you feel if you contracted Covid again and passed it onto someone that ended up in hospital with a tube down their throat?

So we keep on jabbing then.. over and over again with no end in sight.... Tell me when it will end and tell me how. Tell me how long does the vaccine last for when injected.

This is a reasonable question ........ current studies show in general at least six months protection against re infection ....my protection (be it antibodies or T cells) lasted at least 9 months ....

in Israel, if you’ve had covid within the past six months then they give you the second jab only.

you can’t get a first jab within a month of having a positive test here. Given the demand for jabs, you would have thought that we could replicate the Israeli approach.

the onward transmission question is unknown, both as someone who has natural or vaccine induced resistance.......

I expect we will have annual covid vaccinations with the dose adjusted to take account of most recent mutations ......

Just wondered, what sort of grief? Because she’s made an effort or something else

She did make an effort, but she knew my feelings regarding the jab and knew I was never going to take it. The grief was more embarrassment on her behalf because of her peers (docs and other co workers)

These are the exact points that need answering. In theory, having had the virus is a better protection than the vaccination. However, it has been said that people can be reinfected. If that is the case, what difference does a vaccine make unless you get a yearly top up like the flu?

I am sure we will get closer to answers in about 6 months...
