My feeling is we use this match Vs Chelsea to blood some youngsters and fringe players.

I'd feel differently if we were in great form in the league and had secured a CL spot. I'd also feel differently if we didn't have 8 matches crammed into a month and had a bigger squad. I'd also feel differently if fans could look forward to a potential day out at Wembley.

Chelsea will play reserve players and I'm not saying we don't try or even play a decent team but I'm fully expecting and happy to see Fuchs, Morgan, Ward, Mendy, James, Kaputska, Gray, Bennett, Choudhury and Iheanacho starting this match and saving our first team players for bigger matches to follow.

It's likely we'll need every member of our squad to rotate in the coming weeks so these guys need match fitness and game time. Inevitable injuries and fatigue will set in pretty quickly and we haven't secured that CL spot yet.

Thoughts?

Is Bennett injured at the minute? Would like to see him play if not.

We have a few more days rest than Chelsea, playing Tuesday and Chelsea play Thursday evening.

Chelsea squad is huge....they have internationals in reserve.

League is my focus....not this match I'm afraid

I don't care if we can't be at Wembley to see it, I want Leicester to win the FA Cup. If Chelsea are going to play their reserves, we need to put out a strong team. Every game matters now, wether it's in the league or the cup

Genuinely struggling to be arsed about Europe given it's unlikely we'll be able to go ourselves. Winning the Cup would make this weird period interesting at least.

Disagree personally. We need to put out our strongest possible team. The time to get youngsters involved is when utilising the new subs rule during the main season IMO.

You won't be saying that when fans are finally allowed to travel across Europe just in time for Leicester City vs Atalanta in the Champions League final 2021.

It’s the cup Quarter Finals. There will need to be a lot of rotation for the rest of the season, and we shouldn’t be resting anyone to make sure they’re fit for it, but we do need to play as strong a side as possible against Chelsea.

Fingers crossed!

We’ve got five league games coming up against winnable opponents. If I was Rodgers I’d be targeting those games and the Cup, subject to confirmation in top 4 then prioritise Cup over League.

We have a two days head start on Chelsea for the Cup. They play as late as Thursday 10pm whilst we are done by Tuesday 8pm

Rodgers has yet to win an English trophy so I’d guarantee he will be well up for this competition. We’ll play our strongest team and we have a chance. Some of their players are on the way out and their new arrivals can’t play. That opens the door for us.

Both games against them have been really competitive so I expect a great game regardless of the result.

We’ve got 8 matches, the players should be able to handle that after having more rest than a normal season, playing a full strength squad in the fa cup will get them match fit quicker and give us an advantage in the league

We'd be mad to not actually go for it, but I've got to be totally, brutally honest, I'd actually be a bit sick if we won it in these circumstances. I appreciate I will get pelters for this.

Dads Army did not work against Newport.   Need a very strong Team.  Slowly slowly - one game at a time.

Yeah it's a difficult one. I desperately want us to win it, but equally I want to be there. But I think ultimately I'd rather win it this season under these circumstances than not at all.

Of course, the other side of the coin is we've never won it and snubbing a chance to actually win it just seems like madness - but I dunno, I feel like the moment we do it should be absolutely special and yesterday reaffirmed my fear that it just won't be.

I think Manchester City will win it anyway to be honest but still.

Beat those bastards

I'm still extremely pi##ed off about Erland, so a really bad and debatable late penalty decision, in our favour, to win it, would do me nicely 👍

We are going to have to rotate players at some point and give big players a rest....are people saying they'd prefer that to be in the league matches?
