Potentially will this put other clubs off coming to play at the KP?..

Why?

Clubs just travel straight to the KP won't they?

Probably the Overseas Citizens in developed countries  have shown more awareness & discipline...?

I'm not sure they have. There has been 'outbreaks' in other countries. They key is making sure the health system can cope and awareness. I see pictures of people mixing eating in restaurants overseas for weeks.

People getting the virus itself is not bad if the symptoms are mild and the health systems are not overwhelmed. If the Leicester hospitals see increases in patients that is the time to lockdown.

At present locking a city of 300000 down for 600 odd cases is going to bankrupt the local economy which for the long term future is far worse than a virus that maybe weakening.

Even at the beginning over 55s were most at risk. The at risk people should be isolated or recommended to do so, including from family.

Eid was over a month ago and there's literally zero evidence that there were any eid related mass gatherings. Much more to do with outbreaks in food production settings where conditions for transmission are perfect. At least this outbreak has been recognised, more worrying would be cases which aren't being picked up.

As for LCFC games, they'll still be played unless players start testing positive.

I understand that the spike is almost exclusively in the Highfields and North Evington area. Same community. Sometimes cultural issues can be a factor ie like in certain Italian areas, the elderly and the rest of the family live in the same house with very few elderly parents in nursing homes. Asian families can be very similar. In normal times this is quite a positive thing I would think.

I've just posted pictures of the whole Chelsea squad strolling down Great Central Street so I presume they're staying at the new Novotel down there.

Supposedly they in the North Evington area.

Remember we have had BLM protests.

I live in the city but on the other side of the city, I would say less than 1 in 5 are wearing masks, and I have seen many people walking in groups.

No no no, remember Covid had a day off when the BLM protests were happening, they can't be blamed

No problem you can't be expected to read every topic or even topics that have had 50+ posts added to it since you last looked.

And why is this? Simply because folk won't do what they've been asked to and follow the guidelines. Some simply have no idea that this deadly virus is still around and appear happy to spread it. I'm glad I don't live in the city.

Well you've changed your tune

They need to set police up on the city/county borders now if they're going to announce lockdown to stop people fleeing. Or it'll be like when they said "we're locking down Northern Italy tomorrow". Everyone used that night to drive to family and friends in other parts of the country spreading it further afield

As far as I have seen they have just sat like normal.

They key is monitoring it, we can not remain afraid of normal life.

Protect those that need protection, the rest of us need to get on with it, there may never be a cure, we need to live with it. There is absolutely no evidence for the most part that it kills young healthy people, those people will more likely die from stress of having no job or poor mental health from losing their family caused by locking people in.

Just saying what I’ve been told by people who know, and the figures went up from 10 days after Eid when people felt bad and got tested. The spike has been over 3-4 weeks well they say spike 49 cases a day, also why they set up temp testing where they did. You don’t have to believe me, just saying what I’ve been told, may be wrong🤷‍♂️ And yes a few people got covid in a biscuit factory but that was recent and not over the period of the spike.

Yes, this mass gatherings over eid as the primary cause seems to be a bit of foolish perception. Perhaps a contributor that some in the community (like every other community in the country/city) would’ve broken rules for the day but the vast majority from what I understand didn’t and felt it. I would expect higher rates in places like Oadby and Knighton too if that was the primary cause. May be the opinion of some low level civil servants in the local council.

It does seem there is a link to the manufacturing, production factories around the city. Like I said previously, a lot within the area work in those factories where social distancing is an issue. If we don’t find out how to sort that we’ll keep having spikes. Those spikes will close down those industries and have a large effect on health and the economy. This is where the concentration needs to be. Why are factories the cause and how do we reduce the risk going forward.

Interesting to see how it will work like people have said. My mum lives on the border, the other side of the road is Leicester City, she's in County. How do they look at these areas? There's a lot of cross boundaries that take place on travelling, journeys etc. Seems like an extremely difficult thing to manage successfully.

Still, the whole debate in itself has enabled people to push their predictable agendas

Same here. where i live my side of the road is in the county, the bottom of the street is the city boundary.  If i walk to the shop i have to cross the boundary. I am classed as an essential worker and have to travel to London once a week for work which means driving through the city to get to the motorway (or take a 20 mile detour).

The issue is that people are just ignoring the rules ever since they started relaxing lockdown (and before TBH). For the last three nights on the trot i have been kept awake by large groups of young idiots heading to gatherings on the nearby park drinking, shouting etc and a constant stream of cars driving past on their way to the park with the windows down blasting music out (this went on until 1am last night).  No sign of the police of course

Gets me how BAEM community are the first to say how there most vulnerable to catching COVID yet can attend protests and gather like this then wonder why we catch it,

my mum works at BT where there is lots of BAEM there and is now showing symptoms and been sent home today 😡

600 people have tested positive for a virus which continues to get less and less potent.

Burn it. Burn the city and run for the hills.

Let's face it the country is out of control. Illegal gatherings, demos, street parties, raves, thousands at the seaside, stabbings, shootings etc

We just may as well get everybody back at work, all kids at school, crowds at football, pubs open as before. The government hasn't got a clue & makes it up as they go along, the more instructions they issue the worse it gets & as we have now bred a nation of complete idiots, they either don't understand or just ignore it anyway.

We were once a country to be proud of but a succession of useless governments has put an end to that. It is now like the Wild West, completely lawless (unless you are doing 5 miles over the speed limit)
