Could work out as a wingback but im very worried that he's not ready for the step up yet. I'm glad hes using a youngster tbf. he could've chosen fuchs and look how defensive that side would've looked. 1
Brooksy Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 (edited) Why is Iheanacho not starting? Edited 16 July 2020 by Brooksy
HitchinFox Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 I've got a funny feeling that Wes will play a blinder. (Please don't let this be a "My mate's the ref" moment)... 1
Popular Post Stadt Posted 16 July 2020 Popular Post Posted 16 July 2020 Feel sorry for Thomas, we've been toss and under pressure for ages and now he's making his debut at wingback against a team that have brilliant at playing with wingbacks for about 4 years now. Even if he has a poor game it'll hardly be his fault 5

Not sure why one of our most in form players (Iheanacho) isn't starting. rodgers trying to justify his substitution - now way is perez in front of ian! 1

Paninistickers Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 I vowed I wouldn't watch if Bennett was playing. And I'm sticking to it. Nice enough lad I'm sure. But not for me. 1

Guest ttfn Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 It’s got to be pretty rare to line up for a PL game with one player aged between 24 and 29
ronnup Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 A team that's totally new against an unchanged we'll drilled unit. Not looking good 1
twister Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 change of system then again leaving kelechi out seems odd though he is been in such good form. Something's happened at half time at bournemouth I think.
Hammo Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 Rodgers making himself a hostage to fortune with this XI (and bench). Let’s hope he knows what he’s doing because the selection doesn’t fill me with any confidence.

l444ry Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 Interesting. Chosen to stifle Sheff Utd's style yet contains a strike force that can put one or two away, given a fair wind.

But what else is he supposed to do here apart from the blindingly obvious in picking Iheanacho. Other than that he’s not got many options.

Poor lad is gonna make his debut in such a high stakes game in such an important role in our system.

Pliskin Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 Didn’t we go to old Trafford earlier in the season thinking we would win because they were depleted? Doesn’t always go the way you think. 0-10 Sheffield. 1 1
RumbleFox Posted 16 July 2020 Posted 16 July 2020 I mean at least Brendan is showing some steel. I’m fairly pleased he’s changed things up and excited to see Thomas start as don’t know much about him. Feel a bit sorry for Nacho but he can be a great sub. X
