Refs will be rightly getting booed when we're back in the grounds, embarrassing how after the officiating we've all witnessed over the past 18 months they're STILL protected.
Guest Manini Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 Oh my god what a tackle. I’m at half mast.

Dan Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 I suppose that proves why its needed. I'm sure if the ref had been clapped onto the pitch he would've been inspired to give the yellow for diving, but without the support he just couldn't manage it. 1
Fox42 Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 Romeu with one of the tackles of the season, there. Saying that, Raphina should’ve pulled the trigger seconds before then

Honestly, just take the focus off them, don't get me wrong referees have always been a part of debate nowadays it's like the sport takes every measure possible to make them an even bigger subject, rather than the football itself. I clock out on most debates about decisions nowadays. It's just boring as ****.

Surely, the referees themselves have come out and said **** off there’s no chance we’re letting you do this? It’s so embarrassing.
HybridFox Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 That tackle would get fans off their seats 1
Super_horns Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 I don't think this will take off somehow! Clap someone onto the pitch your going to spend the next 90 minutes trying to con or shout at. Its a bit like when the players shake hands with each other before going to kick them and doing your best to avoid being beaten.
Pablito Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 @ Raphinas 20 yard roll with 3 somersaults throw in.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 The ref looked like he was stood there waiting for them to take the free kick there, yet punished them for doing so.
davieG Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 This playing to whistle is a bit arbitrary plenty are taken without certainly short ones.
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 The VAR monitor needs a set of speakers.
doubledeckerderek Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 Really poor from Marriner. Turned his back on the action and was starting to whistle looking into the stands. The ref has got to be looking at where the ball is at all times 1
Corky Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 Why did he stop the play after blowing his whistle the first time?
SemperEadem Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 The new Everton ground looks really good.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 Hmmm that's a strange one As a ref, if you don't want to allow a quick free kick, you'd explicitly say to the person taking the free kick, wait for my whistle. However, with the events that happened (ie. kicking the ball just before the ref blows his whistle) he has no choice but to disallow it.
Corky Posted 23 February 2021 Posted 23 February 2021 This game also proves why you shouldn't lay a new pitch during the season.

Totally patronising and embarrassing. That isn't the problem and won't solve the problem. Respect at the top level is the problem, you see the same issues every week in the PL. Quite simply, players and refs don't respect each other and both sides are to blame. This travels down to the grassroots, as at the end of the day, the PL sets the standard in English football. Players need to be booked more for dissent, they've been allowed to talk like shite to refs for too long. Refs need to be more accountable and actually admit they can make mistakes, instead of interpreting different laws of the game depending which way the wind blows. 10
