Quick point on VAR. if they’re desperate for consistency, and there’s only 4 games a day at the minute. Why can’t the same bloke be VAR for every game? Or at least people do more than one game a day!

All they have to do is sit in a room at watch football!

My very hastily assembled idea is that they should train up a group of specialist VAR officials and have them handle it rather than the current refs. There's no way Jon Moss knows how to send an email let alone use whatever suite of software they have at Stockley Park. Also solves the problem of the VAR being reluctant to correct their mate's mistake. I'm sure there are a number of reasons why this is a very stupid idea but none of them are coming to me presently.

He offers more incite into the game than the subconciously racist dinosaur sat opposite him. If sky were having a clear out I've no idea how Souness survived.

Because Souness is one of the few people who has publicly supported LGBT rights within football. Spoke brilliantly about at one point of last season.

The idea he’s a dinosaur personally I find a bit too easy of an assumption to make

Thanks. I really liked that. Never even heard of the band before, but I was really into early 90s alternative stuff. Don't know how they passed me by.

Am I imagining things or did they just come back out to Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme music?

He also makes sweeping assumptions about players seemingly based on skin colour, so just because supports one group doesn't mean he's not stuck in the past about others.

He was a good friend of Dale Winton so the LGBT stuff isn't that surprising.

EDIT. And its not just his Pogba obsession I'm on about, his comments about Kean last season for example stop just short of basically saying he lazy because he's black. He might as well have said, but skirted round blatantly saying it.

Oof, harsh on Wham that. They've been far better this week, just great build-up really.

Why is he racist?? Because he’s white and over 50???

No because the assumptions he makes about black players. Remember his obsession with Pogba, his made up reasons for Juve selling Kean. I'm shocked you got four likes for your stupid post tbh, its disappointing there are four other idiots on here.

Who we talking about?

Souness

Makes assumptions a lot about black players being troublesome off pitch, or lazy, but apparently not racist.

I did say subconsciously racist in my original post too, i don't think he realises he's doing it, and I don't think he would be overtly racist or nasty to a black person, I just think he has subconscious beliefs about black people that he's expressing during his punditry. But he still needs to stop it.

Pot kettle, with an about an absolute pathetic user name called “Facecloth” I imagine  your face looks like a cloth, or Maybe you hide it with one, his obsession  With pogba was probably with his absolute shite attitude he has shown to Manchester United in recent seasons, ffs people can criticise black players, without being associated with the kkk! My advice to you cloth face is stay of the white wine spritzer.

That, at times, felt like the 'old' Arsenal under their more successful periods under Wenger.

Have to admit, the way that Arteta wants them to play can be quite good on the eye sff times.

You know nothing about why I use that as my user name, but if we're going down that route, someone using Kingleicester is clearly someone who's up their own arsehole. Ironic you think so highly of yourself when you can't even construct a proper sentence.

People can criticise black players, in fact I wish some pundits would criticise player more often in general. What they can't do is make baseless claims about them, like he did most strikingly about Moise Kean.

Plenty of goals today!

MOTD should be good. No doubt they'll have Danny Murphy and Martin Keown on to ruin it.

The fact that he was wanking over Man U record last season, he didn’t really notice palace were on a dangerous attack, squaring the ball along  Man U’s 6 yard box

They then repeatedly praised the quality of Palace's goal...

Do we have hard evidence of the racism?

Cos let’s face it Pogba is wildly inconsistent. The Kean stuff was harsh but as it still stands, he’s not made the breakthrough.

Souness has managed abroad in Turkey and Portugal. In that latter role at Portugal, he signed three black players to Benfica. He’s had a wider experience than most of his fellow pundits. He broke through religion prejudices by famously signing a Catholic for Rangers.

I think it’s too easy to label him a racist tbh.

I did say subconscious. I think he's making comments based on a subconscious thing in his mind. I think subconsciously he looks at Kean, and rather than think its a 19 year old moving to a new country and struggling, he seeing a young black guy who's struggling and therefore a trouble maker. I don't think you'll find him making those comments about say Werner or the young lad at Wolves if they struggle.
