Is this an attempt at some sneering, smug attack at people who thought Allardyce was an awful appointment?

Because Allardyce still WAS an awful appointment and the only way they stay in the league is if Burnley somehow don't have their customary purple patch at some point this year.

Or was it defending the way he set Albion up away to probably the best club side in world football?

Hes a short term appointment for any club in trouble from relegation.

Mostly he keeps them up, gets a huge bonus, shits out the following season and gets a massive pay off.

Sits on a beach for a bit, then makes himself available again, to some struggling Premier club, October time ish.

Rinse and repeat 👍

How can you say that with such confidence? lol WBA won't be the first team to have acquired his services in their position and they won't be the first side to have stayed up if thats what they do.

Based upon those credentials he also somehow managed to be appointed to manage the national side. Pretty much tells you all you need to know about England and the FA.

The problem with Allardyce is we know he wouldn’t have just set his team up for ONLY this game. This is how he plays. He’ll do the same at home against most, better opposition. I’ve got no affinity particularly for Everton fans but just ask them whether they’d want him back as manager.

Let's have a friendly wager. Loser donates £20 to foxestalk. They're gone.

He'll either end up gone before they're mathematically relegated so he can still pretend he's never gone down or they'll be stuck in the second tier with a firefighter of a manager with no prospects for future growth.

Oh don't get me wrong.

Can't stand the bloke, like Redknapp he's (a bit) dodgy. 😕

Knows how to set a team up in certain situations but seems incapable of taking them forward or to the next level.

But he might just about do enough to keep Albion up, even if it makes them unbearable to watch, which will satisfy the board and fans at West Brom, in the short term.

I bet they won't concede as many goals between now and May
