Just had post match chat with my Dad, he pointed out how the cancellation of games for COVID is grossly unfair on teams who aren’t having games cancelled.

For example Leeds have just had a nice 10 day break in the midst of January whilst everyone else is flogging themselves. He then pointed out that Man City’s rise to the top is in part that they effectively had a Christmas break. They facing teams now who’ve played silly numbers in a month.

Valid point.

That's a very fair point!

Loser's mentality to think "oh it's ok, other teams lost today so we've been let off the hook". We should be even more pissed off as we've passed up a great opportunity to gain on our rivals.

For me it’s less it’s okay. More thank **** it’s not worse

Seems a common theme sadly

Can see that point and also those who think it's okay. Just means we've not lost as much ground as we could have, but at the same time be disappointed we've not capitalised.

Yes, but those teams are going to have to cram those extra games in before the end of the season so it could still come back to bite them later.

It's not so bad when it's against top teams but it's when we drop yet more points to teams lower down the league it makes it feel worse imo.

Leeds is because they went out the FA Cup though. Have they missed a game due to covid too? Either way, a rest is a positive for them definitely.

Hopefully it will work in our favour later on when teams are catching up on missed games.

Yes and no. From next week, there’s no midweek PL games until May. It’s all dependent on how you do in other cups. So for example it’s worked in Villa’s favour as they got knocked out of the FA Cup early.

In Man City’s case, they are going to develop a lead which gives them the ability to rest players

They missed a game v Southampton due to Saints cup game being rescheduled
