Not sure if it's any help and whether it needs adding to, but I think it's a pretty accurate summary of who to trust.

Alan Nixon for The S*n would definitely deserve to be a lot higher. Was the first journo to get to Mahrez to Man City, Maddison to us and Rodgers to us. People turn their nose up at him because of who he works for but he knows his stuff.

 

You’re also definitely flattering Dorsettlol apart from that, very good!

Nixon is only a bit lower because he does think he knows everything about every club, and often it is guesswork. I will grant you he did call Ward to us before anyone else as well as the others, but he has also dropped some clear made-up shockers (linking us to Robben for a start).

 

Dorsett could probably be lower yeah but he's always the first to know on deadline day and was decent all the way through about Tielemans last year.

We haven’t truly got an ITK on here these days. One of those people you’ve listed has been saying over the last few weeks we’re skint and we’re not going to spend. Another has been arguing all weekend that we’re not skint at all.

 

as Ramadaone said (Who is the best ITK we’ve had on here btw), we keep are cards close to our chest these days.

Great piece of intelligent work and thanks.   Just one comment though there might be a Tier 6 - the Total Bell Ends.  Mainly ex players like Alan Smith for example who continually advise our players to move to the Big 6.  TalkSPORT has a few of them.

@jamesmilner never gets mentioned for some reason but is pretty much the best one here.

 

One-off bits of info by long term members with no previous ITK claims actually tends to have a half decent hit rate (Big Daddy etc). 

 

I would upgrade Laurie Whitwell to Tier 1 but otherwise the list looks pretty accurate.

Agree with this. Sometimes an odd snippet comes from someone who knows someone, maybe not even connected to the club per se. There are lots of people like the corner shop owner or visiting tradespeople doing jobs at players houses etc that can often pick up tasty bits of info like a player cancelling their papers, neighbours seeing estate agents round the house etc.

We Lomé about xyz being seen in Morrisons or some such, but incoming players would have to be looking for somewhere to live/shop/send the kids to school etc. All potential for a rumour
