Yeah I think it might happen. He could have gone with Amartey last season but chose Castagne at centre half instead.

would be nice to see him as a centre back in a four to see how he does but he made mistakes in a three last year in vulnerable positions.

Possibly. Obviously we have that option now that we perhaps didn't have so easily last year.

Derided prior to kick off, but he made just one very minor mistake in the entire game, giving away a free kick to Gundogan early on. And I thought the decision was harsh!

 

He's no Evans, Fofana or Soyuncu, but put some respect on Dan Amartey's name. He's a good squad member. He's played Man City twice and been on the winning team twice!

One of a select group of Leicester players to win the league, Fa cup and community shield, alongside Vardy, Schmeichel and Albrighton. Sure he's been a squad player that whole time, but those players are important to the structure of the club, filling in gaps, giving the stars a rest etc. Once again today he did his job and he did it well, no frills, just solid.

Awesome post. No one is deluding themselves here, he's nowhere near the same quality as our established top 3 CBs. But he's reliable and he cares for the club. Some players like that are necessary in any squad and this is not the first time where Big Dan has surprised us pleasantly with a good performance. I think he'd be a good pick against Raul Jimenez nest week too as physicality isn't such a problem for him. It's more the faster strikers that are a problem, and TBH they are a problem for most players!

One thing I do like about Amartey (and have said this before) is that he never shirks his duty. He’s content to sit out large parts of the season but clearly loves playing for the club when he gets the chance. Always seems a decent guy and a good bloke 

I genuinely hope he performs well when he plays for us. And he did exactly that today
