Jonny Evans

The mystery surrounding Jonny Evans' absence continues.

This morning, Leicester City tweeted a good luck message to their centre-half for tonight's game, but once again his name has not appeared in the match-day squad.

After pulling out of Friday's draw away to Romania for personal reasons, the former Manchester United man was expected to take his place in Ian Baraclough's back four tonight, but he is missing again.

Where are Jamal Lewis and Jonny Evans?

Ian Baraclough has confirmed that Jamal Lewis' absence from the squad is due to an injury rather than any potential move to Newcastle United and said that he didn't want to risk Jonny Evans by rushing him into action tonight.

"Jonny trained and had a really good session on Saturday. He picked up a slight thigh strain and away one we're not going to risk. It's too big a call. He wasn't happy not to play any part in either game but we've got to do right by him and his club.

"There are a lot of things going on with him but there's a little niggle. We've not risked anyone. We're in a position that we can't afford to lose players in the long term. There's a bigger picture as well as tonight. He played 90 minutes the other day and we've got to be aware what all players may pick up in pre-season. We've got to make sure they get through fit.

Reading between the lines, Sounds like we made a call to pull him out and that he's (Evans that is)  not too happy about it

What are you basing that on? Surely as he's banned for the first 3 games we would jump at the chance for him to play in two competitive fixtures get some good minutes into the legs?

And if your not basing it on anything why spout such bollocks?

Ease up a bit.

Baraclough himself said he was 'doing right by his club' suggesting

that the decision not to play him was with us in mind.

He then went on to say Evans wasn't too happy not to be playing
