Maddison

Recommended Posts

I genuinely think that he’s got his head down. It looks like he’s doing what chillwell did a few years back.... realised that he wasn’t where he should be and focused on improving in the summer rather than just partying.

Looks like he’s proving a few people on here wrong.

Unfortunately his problem is he likes a party way too much. He might be putting the good stuff on social media, he's out there with some party concierge people, am sure it'll be a quiet night in at the library for him....

Yes but now is the time to do it. Of course he’s going to enjoy his time away if he’s still getting up the next day and putting the work in, what’s the issue?

im sure everyone thinks Mahrez partying with haaland in Dubai must mean they are terrible professionals as well?

maddison is no worse than most, he’s probably better than the O’Neil boys. The only difference is that him, Ali, grealish are new age and document everything on social media.

You don’t think Vardys letting loose? He’s just doing it in private

Maddison was great before the injury came back, a little bit harsh to say his performance was an issue.

Mahrez wasn’t great at the start of the season either... so not sure I get the point.

when he was banging in goals were you complaining about his lifestyle?

His hip injury is a consistent issue. You only need to hear what Rodgers said to know that he doesn't do all the things top players do. His fitness has consistently been an issue and he has had many strikes against him for various issues - some of which have been public, some haven't. Hes good in the media but not so good when the cameras are off.

I get hes a footballer and I really don't expect them to be saints, but what he did last year was proper dumb and he didn't earn any trust back at the end of the season. I don't buy the fact that he's working hard in the off season to be honest, it's all for show.

Im in no way defending his actions in the season. I sincerely hope he is genuinely just trying to get his head down and not just look good online but I look at it differently to you, I see it more as him oversharing online. Like I said if he was sneaking into murky bars for lock ins after training like Muzzy and the gang then nobody would be questioning his attitude. Its just  he because carelessly flaunts it that this reputation now surrounds him .....but then again maybe its this arrogance that is the problem

Is that true or are u making it up because of what you’ve read in the newspapers or on social media?

This is the only issue I have with madders - if it’s a genuine medical problem that he cannot rid himself of then we’re stuck with him for the remainder of his contract anyway

he makes some mistakes in his personal life as do lots of young pro sportsmen

he has a child on the way - that should concentrate his mind

I have the impression he'll have a good season as well. Fingers crossed the Summer off will benefit him and others struggling for form after injuries like Ricardo.

I think having this kid will maybe ground him a bit too if he is indeed a bit of a lad.

Despite injuries, Maddison had 21 goals and assists last season. Great player.  I doubt he parties too much.  So what if he does sometimes?

To be at the very top and stay there you need to make these sacrifices. Look at people like LeBron and Djokovic, they wouldn't even think about doing stuff Madders does and I doubt they'd have an ounce of respect for any professional athlete that does. I'm sure I've heard LeBron talk about this before on his team mates and just how ruthless he would be.

This "so what if he parties from time to time" attitude is so naive when it comes to the very top of elite sport IMO. It might be a bit more acceptable in the Championship or back in the day when things were different, but certainly not now when we're looking for the tiniest differential over our rivals.

The fact that you do not know where I'm coming from is frankly ridiculous. You've either been away in the clouds or on holiday for 6 months. Have you?

So you still can’t answer the questions then?

Yep.

He was busted by the police for having a party.

Rodgers commented before the cup final that he wasn't up to scratch.

He was dropped from the England squad and then decided to go to the casino despite having flu.

In a court case he was quoted about boasting about how much money he had whilst pissed on a night out.

And that's just the stuff that's out there in the media. There's plenty more too. Why do you think he employs the club security for him on holidays and nights out?

Pass this all off as him being young and naive all you want.

Hopefully the penny drops. He's about to become a father and his stock has taken a hit from injuries, the covid party, loss of form and missing out on the Euros in his home country.

He wants people to talk about him full stop but you're not telling me he'll be happy to be seen as a nearly man, I think he will be exceptional next season. He needs that fire to keep him going, his injuries are a concern but I don't think they're at a point yet where it'll ruin his career.

He's got his big contract with us but it's still not jaw dropping like what most of them crave and what a lot of his Avenger WhatsApp group pals have got so again, there's plenty to keep pushing him and him not be forgotten about.

Aye. I think he’ll have a good season next season. He’ll want to prove himself.
