Apparently he has lost confidence in shooting from long-range in case he aggregates his hip injury, even in training.

Didn’t look that way at St Mary’s the greedy twat

I think Maddison is hugely overrated, by himself and fans who don’t watch him week in, week out.

Genuinely don’t have any issues with his attitude or personality at all.

He’s what, 23? I’m a fair bit older and I’ve made worse mistakes than going to a party... I’m sure we all have if we’re brutally honest.

Andy Murray had similar problems and it wiped him out for a year after surgery which involved sanding his hip.

Jack Black and Mary Decker had that done too.

Shouldn't be quite so tough for those two, unless they're entering at Roland Garros as a mixed doubles team.

Maddison has to reflect over the summer. Injuries haven't helped his case this season, but he started it looking like he'd push his way into the England squad. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes but he really messed up with the party he attended. The casino incident seemed blown out of all proportion to me, but I only know 2nd hand facts about it. Talented player, no doubt, but still too easily knocked off the ball and can be guilty of overelaboration at times.

No way I'd be looking to sell him though, he's still one of only two players we have that can thread the ball through the eye of a needle and fashion chances.

Must get his head down, work hard at preseason and come out all guns blazing next season. Has he got it in him? Time will tell.

With his wages he could've afforded a little better quality.

Should he have the actual fa cup embedded in his arm?

you can tell it’s the fa cup. You can tell it’s Wembley. You can tell it is supposed to be him.

it’s fair for me.

The line work on the stadium is a little shaky and it's bit cartoonish.

Whatever, perhaps I'm being a snob.

You're thinking of Ayoze Perez, aren't you? The Maddison I see is extremely accomplished at resisting attempts to dislodge him from possession.

I don't understand the "over elaboration" statement - is that from dead ball situations or in play?

Your second para is spot on. But no club is going to spend money on bringing in a player with an unresolved hip injury.

He's the one player we have (bar Vardy) who has real guile. If he needs surgery then he should have it - asap. Or he should retire, for the good of his long term health. Football at Prem level is a hard, if not brutal, taskmaster.

Both, at times.
