Well said. Thought it was just me - there are so many of these, they've become a total cliché. Bland, lazy and irritating. 

As for this 'Big Picture' cobblers - it's cynical, predictable etc etc,  but it's never going to happen. 

All it will succeed in doing is to make Liverpool and Manchester United even more reviled than they already are.

What baffles me is that they want to stop traditionally lesser clubs like ourselves, Wolves, Saints, West Ham from getting close to them but seemingly are ok with making each other stronger. Why would Liverpool want a deal that benefits Manchester United?

Henry doesn't view it like that. He has no interest in club rivalry in this - it is a way of securing maximum income, first and foremost.

 

This enhances their chances of making the CL trough, and with transfer fee limitations, they can rake off the top all the lovely excess profit.

Nottingham Forest can confirm that it has received an initial high level briefing on the current position in relation to Project Big Picture along with other EFL clubs.

The club’s preliminary view is that there are many aspects of the proposals which appear to be in the long-term interests of football and are worthy of further discussion and negotiation.

It is obviously vital that any long-term settlement secures the immediate future of the football pyramid but it must also look after the interests of fans, the women’s game and the role of football in our communities.

There are no doubt governance issues which will require debate but the club considers that these issues should be capable of resolution in the interests of the game and that this debate at the top of football should not obscure the potential benefits of the proposal which will impact on a much wider community.

I guess being in the championship as long as they have would invite them to say yes to pretty much anything.

It's quite surprising we're hearing so little about the £375 million investment being rejected, seemingly without the clubs getting a say.

If the EFL clubs are in favour of receiving the money (jam today) at the expense of their clubs never competing at the top levels of the football pyramid (ever) then will they see the 14 (or 11) PL clubs as the villains if they reject the deal? It's likely to heap pressure on the vote if EFL clubs with no hope or ambition (ie NottsF) are denied the bailout cash.

- The Premier League would be reduced from 20 to 18 clubs, with Liverpool FC and Manchester United leaving the Premier League to form a 'two-team' Super League. 
- The Community Shield would have all proceeds given to fan-selected charities chosen through a voting and fundraising platform.
- Current one-club one-vote principle would continue, as would rule that 14 clubs out of the 18 need to agree on policy.
- Power would be equally shared across all teams.
- All clubs would be required to vote for major change.
- An agreed fair payment and support package to the EFL, and increased payment to the Football Association.

Any clubs struggling for money will say yes like I would and most others. Personally this can’t happen it will be terrible for football why can’t they ask for a donation off the prem clubs and drip feed the lower club that? The massive issue here is what there putting forward is we don’t want the top 6 controlling anything and what happens when the 250m runs out?

That's exactly the pressure the willy pullers who came up with it are trying to put on those clubs. Arseholes like Neville and Conn already trying to paint those clubs as the villains of the piece .

Makes me even more proud us winning the title. The premier league was rigged in the first place - we always knew that, which is what made winning it special at the time.  The league is way more competitive because of it. The elite responded by throwing more money at it and it hasn't worked so this doesn't surprise me. Still can't help feeling we are partly responsible by willingly paying the subscriptions that ultimately fund the Premier league along with all this bullshit in the First place.
