Injuries at the club.

Rodgers himself said Castagne pulled himself from the game and Barnes I find it more likely, given how he's managed the likes of Evans, JJ and Vardy that Barnes made the call

Ultimately decisions lie with the manager, no?

Which does work both ways but if he has had some part in listening to the player for an injury concern and decided not to risk him, is that not a good thing?

if a player says he's injured you cannot force them to play so no it doesn't, usually its a player that's injured saying they are fine to play given Rodgers track record I cannot give him that benefit of doubt

Reading an article about the NFL earlier and 54 players did there ACL in the season. so that's about 1 in 32 the number is ridiculously high.

A lot of players are blaming it on the mixture between astro and grass - which is very similar to what we have at the new training ground + what a lot of the prem grounds (including us) have.

does make you wonder if its the surface we are training on isnt helping towards the injuries we are getting in training. Hamstrings especially,

It sounds like an excuse but you dont see the amount of muscular injuries / ligament injuries at any other clubs.

Really interesting point you raise and could be partially the reason why we seem to be way above and beyond any other Prem team with muscle related injuries.

Interesting point, the injuries have been more frequent and relentless since we moved to Seagrave than before, even though there we strong signs of warning prior to that.

We have way too many injuries at the club, with Barnes the latest feeling tightness in his thigh. It must be more than just injuries from being tackled or playing too much. It may have something to do with intensity of training? With Brendan pushing players to compete with each other in training, maybe they were doing way too much? It is not just about rest in between and maybe intensity? Something is wrong.

These are professionals who cost the club millions and millions of pounds. We can’t afford to lose them like we have, plus their value decrease significantly. I rather that they just do light training and only play intensely during actual games.

He should give them the season off, just turn up for games and do their own fitness work. They wouldn't have to listen to his bull shit on a daily basis either and react better in games autonomously.

Great idea....run a Premier League and FA Cup winning team like a pub side.

36 games across all comps, City have started with 26 different defences.

And people still claim injuries aren't the route cause.

Well if you've got relentless injuries how are you going to keep a settled starting XI unless the same small group of players remain fit and the rest are the ones always getting injured.

Nothings changed and nor is it surprising, the culture of this regime is causing a lot of these persistent injuries which negates any sympathy for an unsettled side.

The pitch thing. Probably nothing in it, but from memory, non contact injuries have been suffered at home by Barnes, Evans twice, JJ (twice), Caglar. I can’t immediately think of any away from home non contact injury. Probably coincidence.

Cags aggravated his hammy at liverpool

vardy and daka both did their hammys at anfield

madders did his hip at villa

youri did his calf at elland road
