Injuries at the club.

Recommended Posts

All this talk about the training being to intense and too many games.

Milner on Klopp's training methods, some players were sick during the former Borussia Dortmund coach's first session due to the intensity

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has revealed the culture shock that the Reds’ players had when Jurgen Klopp took charge, with the intensity of the German’s training formidable.

Keep in mind he replaced Rodgers who to many LCFC fans is damaging players with his intensity in training. Milner “It was ridiculous really - it wasn't like we had played at a slow tempo under Brendan"£

Liverpool are one of the most intense side in the league yet Mane has averaged 47 games for the last 4 season, Salah 50 etc

So it's probably more down to putting trust in the sports science team and taking on their input. A sports science team that kept us basically injury free in 15/16 and never really had any issues until Rodgers took over.

Based on the fact that Rodgers cried to the press and had a piece written about how rubbish and evil Michael Edwards was at Liverpool. Pretty sure they even used the article to say he was wrong to insist on signing Firminho against Rodgers wishes. Klopp came in and embraced working with someone as talented as Edwards and they're reaping the rewards.

This is the article, it proper takes the p*ss out of Edwards because he hasn't spotted a top class player like Jordan Ibe. Jibes him for spending £29 million on Firminho (pretty much the amount Rodgers spunked on Perez). Also has Rodgers hailing Origi as a 'world class talent' lol

Liverpool seem to have introduced some incredible sport science practices to their players under Klopp though, their energy levels are incredible.

Milner's contact up at the end of the season, think he's good friends with Vards. 36 years old however. Would anyone take him as a free agent next season?

Kevin Phillips style, with a coaching role built in? Would be perfect really. Mainly there for his knowledge but in desperate situations can cover about 8 positions.

As I said in match thread Cags signaled to the bench that he wanted substituting a couple of minutes before he went down after apparently jarring his knee......around 86 mins when they won a corner. Yes the one Kasper caught, Cags was tracking back and as soon as the ball went dead he bent forward as if stretching his back then turned to the bench and made that revolving motion with both arms that usually signals a player wants subbing....the knee might not be his problem

...not sure if a back issue would make you want to lean forward as opposed to bending backwards to loosen any possible muscle in distress!!!

...just for his presence and experience around the squad!!!

Didn't seem to go down too well amongst the players to start with though, which baring in mind the injury problems they faced under Rodgers is saying something.

Maybe he's had to fine tune his methods for a side competing across 4 competitions a year....

Rodgers says Fofana will train for another week before playing in a game.

He seemed to indicate that they would give him another week of training at least before deciding what they would allow him to do

he said vards would join in full training in a few days time so surely no chance we see him at turf moor

I did find it strange that Vardy started against Leeds. No football in 2022 up to before the Burnley game when he got 20 mins to then start him and play him for 60 mins felt a bit reckless. I thought he'd have been better off doing the same as he did for Burnley, slowly reintroducing him and getting his minutes up.

It was a tackle he could have played 2 minutes or 60 minutes and it could have still happened.

No sure how that makes a difference to an impact injury.....

To be fair, in the point I made all I was saying was that I thought it was weird that he started the game so soon after coming back from injury.

You're right it doesn't make a difference with an impact injury however, in my opinion, I think he'd have been less likely to be on the receiving end of one if he was only on for the last 15/20 minutes of the game.
