Why rush him back? He probably makes his return against Braga....

...not saying rush him back!!!!

We have had false dawns regarding his progress and Ndidi came back from a long lay off, brought back for Villa and is out again, long term. I am losing confidence, we are nowhere near our previous ability to keep players injury free and our assessments of players suitability to return is woeful. Maddison was pulled out of the team at the end of last season and brought back in too soon and we are attempting to bring him through slowly in order to minimise the chance of another breakdown.

The usual refrain is that the number of games and no pre-season has led to this,I am not saying that these are not factors in the amount of players we have on the injury list but the views taken by the medical and no doubt coaching staff in assessing the need when to bring players back, only to find them breaking down long term, does concern me.

I’ve never seen this before but it’s great .

I agree. I only found it the other day when someone else pointed it out. They had only just found it, as well.

Brendan hopes he'll be back for Fulham, but doesn't sound like he'll be around for Braga.

He said he hopes to have him back at the next game on the interview although radio leicester twitter said that was Fulham. They'll find out weds id asumme at the pre game presser.

Timothy Castagne’s return to action has been delayed following a “slight twinge” in his hamstring.

After missing four games prior to the international break, Castagne had been declared fit by Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers in the run up to Sunday’s clash with Liverpool, but the Belgian international was then absent from the matchday squad.

Rodgers said in his post-match press conference that while Castagne had been training, pain in his hamstring returned, and it was deemed he should not be risked.

A scan has come back all-clear, and Rodgers is hopeful he will return against Fulham next Monday, with the manager suggesting that he will leave the 24-year-old out of the trip to Braga on Thursday to give him a full week to prepare.

Rodgers said: “He trained with us for a few days and then he felt a slight twinge. It’s nothing major but it’s one where it was too big a risk for him.

“He’s been out for a few weeks now. I feel for him, missing out tonight, and we’ll see how he goes for next weekend. Hopefully him missing tonight and having a clear week will get him ready for our next game.

“It’s in the same spot (in his hamstring). He’s come back, had a few good days of training, and we thought he was going to be alright but he just had something minor that he felt. We had a scan and it’s okay, but he wasn’t available.”

Fellow full-back Ricardo Pereira is set to start his comeback with the Under-23s on Monday night after eight months out, while Caglar Soyuncu and Wilfred Ndidi are back in training, albeit a few weeks away from returning to action. No timescale has been set on Daniel Amartey’s return after his serious hamstring injury.

Be absolutely foolish to bring him back to soon. When our players come back from injury I'd like to see them stay healthy.

This squad has taken an absolute hammering considering how deep we've had to go into it with our injuries. Amazing how well we've done considering. But at some point those players who have brought us to where we are now are going to start to have problems and fatigue. This has to managed or it could get even worse. If the squad starts breaking down from both ends is not something I want to think about. We need to be patient. This season feels like a war of attrition.

Has anything new been said, as to why he wasn’t in the squad tonight?
Has he had a major setback?

what do we know?

Rodgers said ndidi, soyuncu and pereira will be available for minutes on thursday but didnt mention castagne, very worrying.

I Think Rodgers said... "I dont think we will see Timmy for this one" (re Thursday)

Edit
But my "feeling" was that he was close?... not fact or ITK... just my reading of his voice.

Post match Rogers said he'd been ready for last week but then felt some pain. Nothing serious but being monitored this week, not available for Thursday, they're seeing how it goes for next weekend.

I reckon he's ****ed. He moved quickly on from the question. Sounds like they've rushed him back.

Why is BR and the club being so quiet about his injury?  Anyone seen anything about a time scale.

Originally supposed to be back after the last international break.  Quite concerning.
