Can we win a trophy this season

Recommended Posts

Wonder what the odds are of both winning the Europa League and FA Cup..

Bet (literally) someone will.

Just glad that the squad has got just enough depth in quality, although some may disagree, to compete in more than one competition seriously.

We know more about the FA Cup route but we're still probably going to have to beat at least two of the top six to win it.

Europa League is going to be a real challenge. If we can reach at least one semi-final I think we've done well.

For us to win Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League, interestingly it’s a little over 5,000/1 - could never happen could it?

Here's a hypothetical question...

Would you rather:

a) Win a trophy this year, knowing you can't go to any games and properly celebrate it

b) Wait five years, but know things will be back to normal and you can watch all the games and celebrate like mad

Win a Trophy ,every year for the Next five years, until I can Make up my mind...:ill:

Yes we can win one, especially given we’ve stepped up our performances against the bigger sides this season. That said I still worry about our mental frailty given our semi final loss to Villa and league capitulation. But on paper with experience through the spine in Kasper, Evans and Vardy plus Tielemans having an outstanding season and playing well in big matches we have a real chance.

Realistically given a lot of the team is still young we might still be one season away but we look like a better all round team this season. Another season’s experience plus perhaps another marquee player might do it.

Would love for Kasper and Vardy to get another trophy here as both could easily have left to do so.

Would 2 cups be better than 1 PL? (Not saying we'll win any of them, just asking)

The title is the holy grail.  Beyond the reach of any of us provincial plebs...or so they thought.

Cups are great but there's no comparison.  Portsmouth and Wigan have won it recent times.  Even Cov have got one.  I would dearly love to see us win the FA Cup but the Premier League title is the absolute pinnacle.  So incredible it is beyond fiction.  Beyond Roy Of The Rovers.  No one would have ever believed it possible!

A

Get the silverware in the cabinet now, celebrate later.

If we play at our best level we're capable of winning a trophy. Unfortunately we sometimes don't.

Would take any trophy . Think best chance is FA cup then europa then PL . Would take europa over FA  because it gives as CL and more Prominence in Europe so could make it easier to sigh players from Europe . Would just love to win any silverware

Papa John's Trophy it is then! :scarf:

There is no 'celebrate later'. It's about the moment. I do appreciate we aren't the type of club who can be choosy about these things but it would be a huge shame in my opinion if we did finally get our hands on the FA Cup and it was done in these circumstances. It's a tough one.

Imagine the options put toy you in 2007

2008 - Would you take relegation to the third division to then win third and second division titles?

2013 - Would you take "Deeney Day" to win the premiership

2019 - would you sell your soul for the opportunity to watch a game live?

It sounds a little silly but with the generation of talent that we have now surrounding Vardy, we must push as much as we can to get our hands on anything.

We are currently on a tipping point where the club could become something bigger than its far used to being, on a more consistent basis.

Personally winning the Europa League, a tangible European Cup, would be unbelievable. We will always have a chance to compete in the FA Cup, European cups don’t come round to us that often!
