It's all about numbers - mention man u and you get exponentially more clicks/views than if you mention Macclesfield.  Sadly, and in some cases, for obvious reasons, journalists are judged on the size of their readership not the quality of their work.

Agreed. Shame everything is so lop sided. Even Match Of The Day used to feature the old Second Division regularly. The league pyramid is hardly mentioned at all these days

For all the negative nelly’s out there, look at how outsiders are viewing our business so far.

We know that counts for very little in this most ridiculous league. The best thing that can be said is its being done early and the mentality and character of Coady is more impressive than his perceived quality.

'Leicester will be the Manchester City of the Championship'

When you're smiling graphic
Spanish football journalist and BBC columnist Guillem Balague discussing new Foxes manager Enzo Maresca on BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling podcast: "You've got a manager that has got a clear idea that comes through his own story, experience, process.

"He is somebody who's got such a clear idea of what he wants to do based on what he has experienced, what he's seen, what he's put in practice, the people he's been with.

"As well as that he's very aware that he's going to have to learn and learning right now means improving the language, understanding what squad he has, what the expectations are, how to deal with people, how to practice the football he wants when he still doesn't know the players he will have.

"That requires the humbleness to learn and he is one that will do that.

"I know he doesn't want to link himself to Pep Guardiola too much because they are two different people with two similar ideas of the game but one of the reasons he became his assistant manager is to learn some more.

"They have found a guy who with Pep has had to find ways to break down the most solid of defences.

"There was a lot of work put in this year (at Manchester City) on how to open up those defences.

"He will have come to the realisation that Leicester is going to be the Manchester City of the Championship. I'm sure he's going to take a lot of that because everybody will come to Leicester like that and beating that will be his target I'm sure."

Hope it's the Manchester City of 2023 though. Not looking forward to being the Manchester City of 1987 or 1998 though.

This sentiment is rearing its head more and more, here and in the media.

To me, it just smacks of a lazy take.

Just because we've got Man City's assistant manager in post doesn't mean we're going to magically transform. He's got 1 preseason. There's still a ton of player turnover to happen. Enzo's barely ever been a manager. Does he have much knowledge of this division or the players in it, or coming in?

It's great that the club seem to be attempting a much needed cultural and mentality reset, but this idea we're going to suddenly become the best team in the league seems hard to buy into on the current information we have. Why would that happen? Just because we may have an OK transfer budget due to some of our sales? Just because we've been in the PL for 9 years prior?

Isn't this the same team/players that have played pretty turgid stuff for best part of 2 years? Isn't this the same DOF and recruitment system that has spectacularly failed in the last 2 summer windows?

There's no cause for pessimism and ultimately I'll reserve judgement until the end of the window and once we actually get going under Maresca, but the opposite - blind optimism based on the assumption that we're going to instantly transform into Pep 2.0 and Man City 2.0 - seems to be equally unfounded

They mean it in the sense that teams will come to Leicester in the same way they go to Man City to shut up shop and try to nick a point. Away fans will want to come to the KP so they'll all be up for it.  We'll be the Cup final for a lot of sides. It won't be easy.

Of all the corny stuff the club does it was the ticket prices that made a few Sheff United fans I know poke fun at us for this week.

From what angle?

£££

Cheap or expensive. I heard they reduced them but if I didn't have a season ticket and treat it like any other direct debit I'd have struggled to justify even the cheaper prices to watch that shite last season.

How do we rank? Sorry just never took an interest

Have you seen Sheffield Wednesdays.

Make ours look cheap.

Sheff Wed should be ashamed with those prices. Especially when parts of the ground aren't even fit for purpose. Hopefully the fans vote with their feet.

I wonder how often we will experience opposing fans singing "Premier League your having a laugh" during the forthcoming season?
