There's no pleasing you lot, amartey isn't an attacking player and you still complain. Amartey could save your family from a burning house and you'd still complain.

He's no world beater but he's decent

Amartey is dreadful. He’s probably a cracking bloke, but is is seriously a dreadful footballer, he can’t pass, he can’t tackle, he can’t take an adequate throw in and he can barely run. He is most definitely one of the worst player to Grace the shirt.

Disappointing to only take the point but with a makeshift side and with Kasper making a number of great saves. It could be a valuable point come end of season.

Hamza really needs to start to pass the ball forward. Number of opportunities we had chance to break but he played the negative pass backwards and killed the attack. It's so frustrating to see.

We suddenly look better when Fofana and Albrighton came on which is no surprise.

I would consider Albrighton at the number 10 position as although not his natural role he has the passing precision and may actually create opportunities for others.

Nacho was extremely bright and had one of his better games for us. Was shocked that Vardy stayed on and Nacho Subbed.

Vardy has been completely off it for ages now. With Maddison and Barnes goals gone out the side it's concerning that Vardy is not firing on any cylinders in a crucial run in.

If only we had goals from set pieces as our CB's don't score any.

Same Burnley that have beat 3 times out of the last 5 at there place?

You've had to stretch back to 2018 to try and prove a point that means absolutely nothing...

When you look at relevant, current facts, Burnley are 15th and have one of the lowest goals scored in English Football.

In the grand scheme of things, we'll probably get away with it by once again relying on the teams around us.

Beating the likes of Burnley are the results that get you top 4 and failing to do so is the reason we failed to get top 4 last season and will fail again this season.

I mean we set up with 8 defensive / defensively minded players against BURNLEY!

Last time I looked it was about getting more points then the others not more wins. Where the points come from is irrelevant.

We won the same amount of games as Man U last year, they finished second because they had 4 more draws than us.

the period in the second half where we were losing the possession stat 70/30, showed how we lacked the intensity to press the game.

we are running on fumes compared to how we want to play ..... we need to get through sat evening and then see how a week off refreshes the screw can put out ......

going three at the back was a clear tactic to counter Burnley’s long balls .......but we could have put Fuchs in there rather than lose wilf from the screening role. Perhaps it was felt dropping wilf in would give him an easier evening in terms of distance covered and also enable us to adjust formation without needing a sub

Not getting wins against poorer opposition is the exact reason Man Utd were even a threat to us so thats not a great example really...

No - he's not dreadful - he's a Premier standard sub. You're picking out one player to blame and making absolutely no point at all by doing so. Most of us recognise that there's an injury crisis on and players like Amartey and Choudhury will be employed to stop that particular gap. Amartey isn't creative or forward thinking, but he's good enough to cover most circumstances. he didn't make any huge mistakes and his throw-ins weren't bad - he was just taking time to find an outlet. Depending on how long you've been watching City, you might not recall some of the clods who wore the shirt. Just remember the long stretches of time we've spent in the Second/Championship - where we were nowwhere near the stratospheric heights of this Thai era. Get a sense of proportion.

Same Man U that lost to Burnley, Newcastle, C.Palace, Watford last year.

No getting 4 less points was the reason, irrelevant where they come from.

When Amartey was right centre back he was left on his own because Ricardo was all over the place

Yes, I thought that at times in fairness to Armarty, Ricardo didn't appear to be winger, fullback or wingback, he appeared roleless. For saying we had 8 defensive minded players, the last thing we were was competent defensively. Confusion appeared to reign, there didn't appear any coherent plan and at times, players looked confused and frustrated. Whatever Rodgers plan was remained in his sketch book or head and not in the minds of his players. Either his plan was too theoretical, difficult to understand or, by the players he had out on the pitch, unachievable in the tasks and positions they were being asked to play in. Too contrived, too clever, nonsensical.

Also we had the perfect opportunity to play a back 4 with:

Ricardo, Amartey, Soyuncu, Castagne

But giving Ricardo and Castange the freedom to bomb forward with Wilf dropping in to make a back 3 when needed.

Wilf would then be back in his usual role when we reset.

We could have then had Tielemans next to Wilf and not needed either Choudhury or Mendy at all and played Albrighton and Taveres/Under  instead.

BR doesn't trust Amartey in a back 4. He's not good enough

Well yeah he's decent if he played for a league 1 team perhaps. But he's not really anywhere near good enough for Prem, wasn't in 15/16 and certainly isn't now

Dunno why so many are so negative. We competed well with loads of players out and it's a decent point. What were you expecting?

With the starting 11 and the awful start I felt it was a great result like you.

can only imagine Amartey and Choudhury played (and stayed on) because of height HC game was shocking all round.

think it gives us a platform for Brighton and stops the rot

You we're the one who bought up 2 games without a win, not me, so don't put words in to my mouth and make it the main part of your argument.

If you think we're playing well enough to end the season in the top 4 and don't think the chasing pack will make up the defecit,  then fair play.

But I don't know what evidence you're basing that on.

Errrrr, no, you explicitly agreed that your argument was '2 games without a win = wheels have come off and top 4 is lost'

So we’ve already thrown away top 4 then?

I’m just using your logic against you to show how mindless your argument is. You’re seemingly saying “2 games without a win = season over”

Crikey, hope you weren’t around in the great escape season, you’d have been suicidal

Probably not the worst result in the world, sloppy mistake to concede the first goal but Kasper kept us in that game in a big way. Would have taken a point at the start of the game, just need to get through Brighton and then hopefully the lads can get some rest.

Decent point with a team decimated by injuries against a team that can be strong at home and are notoriously stubborn, physical and direct, the type of style we often struggle against.

Games against Burnley are never pretty, their MO is to spoil the game, keep the ball in the air and win 2nd balls.

Hopefully look back on it as a vital point come the end of the season.

You can't have been watching city very long, can think of 5 or 6 right backs alone worse than amartey

They are notoriously a bunch of gamekillers and cavemen, but I thought that Dyche played some really positive football yesterday, particularly in the first 15 minutes of the second half, when they really went for us. Not as suggested on here, by simply pinging in crosses and lobbing over the top to a single target man in Wood, but they were clearly encouraged to shoot, to run at our defence and they also played some nice through balls from MF in the process. They very much highlighted our frailty and vulnerability at the moment - and you're, right, Burnley can be an awkward proposition. Brighton likewise.

Apologies if I'm missing the joke here but if this is a serious opinion that is a horrendous one.

I think that for a neutral watching the game it would have been a very entertaining match, but both supporters on both sides would be frustrated.

For me, main good point, is that Amartey proved he is very decent cover. He's not world class, but he is solid and doesn't over complicate things... unlike Choudrey, who is in danger of going the same way as Gray.

And considering right back is only one of many positions Dan has played in, whilst most of our right backs, even some of our better ones, would never be played in another position.

As versatile cover, when you've got a couple of injuries in a position, outside the (urgh, I hate saying this) "big 6" teams, you'll struggle to find better.
