Absolute scum the so called big 6 I feel we’ve had a major part to play in this as we’ve really challenged and got amongst them which is hurting them financially. We’ve spent within our means improved facilities to become and bigger and better club for them to just **** off 😂

It's not just us though. Man City started this by paying their way into the big time, Leipzig have been pushing as have the likes of Atalanta. Too many clubs are pushing into and breaking up the classic big teams.

The statement has clearly been bottled.

There’s no way all 12 clubs would have given the go ahead for a strong statement. Especially with the lawsuit ueafa have lined up (60bill)

They will be having a private conversation, they’ll say do this and we’ll never bring it up again... and the horrible new layout will be announced.

The other thing with a closed shop is the boring nature of the games. I watch a bit of AFL where we have 18 teams, no promotion or relegation.
The teams play each other with the top 8 playing for a finals shot, culminating in a Grand Final which is great, but 5 games into a 22 game season and at least 5 clubs already have nothing to play for, as the season moves on more and more quickly realise they won’t make finals and can’t even relegated, or teams know they’ve made finals and start resting players. Every round of games there are more and more pointless games, no one is interested in, no one wants to attend and no one wants to watch on TV. It’s crap every year other than for 3 or 4 clubs.

Imagine the PL was a closed shop from next season.

It would be a pretty pointless competition as more than half the clubs no they have no chance of winning or qualifying for Europe. Any optimism you may have had of an outside chance is probably over before October. Once sport stops being a meritocracy or the deck is so loaded to the privileged then what's the point, it's sport, it's supposed to be competitive.

Also the "big six" has always been interchangeable, 100+ years a go it would have been Sunderland and Preston. In the 1980's Everton, Villa and Forest, the 1990's Newcastle & Leeds and arguably us in the last five years. Teams fluctuate so I hate the idea of pulling the drawbridge up when you're already over the moat.

On a serious note just imagine being Top (chairman) right now. Just reached the F.A.Cup Final and then having to process this and particularly with us as the finest side not involved and being the example of everything that's wrong about it. The C***s, and not strangers to him either.

It no longer about local fans, it about the worldwide audience and how much they can milk them for.

You’re absolutely right. But it just shows the shortsightedness. People outside of the UK glory support. Africa, China, India etc. Purposely pick the sides at the top of the league and that’s no criticism. If we watch say the NBA, most fans from the UK who have a passing interest will pick the biggest team. It’s purely entertainment. Surely they risk losing this global appeal by sitting lower mid/bottom of a super league.

I'm absolutely convinced that if these 6 did leave the PL once given the ultimatum, we will see the Old Firm down south and I don't like it.

The big argument against it is that they would have to take a promoted teams spot, this wouldn't be the case anymore and the FA would be desperate to fill some of the gaps with clubs that would recoup some of the revenue lost.

How many of these teams glory boy supporters will keep following them when they're not winning the majority of their games? Simple logic dictates that at least half these teams will have to get used to losing more often winning.

Ways and means.Don’t go down the traditional league route.Have zonal, regional groups.Make it so there’s a bit of a mix.Put wildcard opportunity’s in,so you can finish bottom but still get to the major finals knockout bit.
