Yeah, probably be awarded one, then miss it like the last time we had a penalty at West Ham. Luckily, we still went on to win, so I'd take that scenario. Edited 6 April 2021 by MGLCFC

Iheanacho is a luxury #10 we simply cannot afford in games against elite competition. The 3-4-1-2 against West Ham will make us very susceptible to counter attacks. Man City's second goal is the blueprint to how West Ham will look to beat us. If we go back to the 4-2-3-1, particularly with Praet and Maddison as "wingers," we will completely dominate the midfield. If we lose possession, West Ham will have 5 central midfielders to get through. West Ham will need to build possession slowly down the wings and overload us with numbers out wide. Doing so will make themselves susceptible to Leicester counter attacks through the middle or over the top to Vardy. Without Iheanacho as his partner, Vardy will be forced into the mindset of scoring goals, which may very well be the best thing to get him out of his rut. ...I just can't endorse the Maddison out wide scenario!!! It doesn't work, we are just trying to shoehorn him into the eleven. The alternative to your second option would be Perez right, Maddison central and Praet on the left. Praet is great at going beyond Vardy and is an intelligent player, Maddison is not a player to be deployed wide. 4
st albans fox Posted 7 April 2021 Posted 7 April 2021 Their tactics at our place were very effective and soucek mentioned that he advised Prague to replicate them in the Europa game Given their injuries we could see them replicate although Brendan should have a plan if they do
Popular Post Alfs Posted 8 April 2021 Popular Post Posted 8 April 2021 Hi all, I'm Alfs from WHO (West Ham Online). We run an article each game called View from the Opposition where a fan or two from the club we're playing answers various questions posted by our members. Some are serious football questions, others just banter and should be treated as such. A good knowledge of Leicester City and a sense of humour required. It wouldn't take longer than 20 minutes of your time. I'll send the questions over on a word doc and the answers can be typed straight in. If anyone's up for it, please let me know. As for the game. I've never known a WH v Leicester game being so important. We're doing a mini-version of what you did when that miracle happened. 3 points for either side will be massive. Cheers, Alfs 6
nnfox Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 Rice is out, Antonio is out and Ogbonna has only returned to training this week after 4 weeks out so should be doubtful. Those three are the spine of their team and were great when we played them in October, but West Ham are a different beast without them. Not an easy game by any stretch and Lingard will definitely score, so could do with Iheanacho continuing his form and Vardy finding his.

He was stretching the hammy at the end of the Wolves game.

It looks as though Antonio may be out for the rest of the season. Nervous about this one already - We need to dominate the ball and keep the back door closed this time.
Sunbury Fox Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 Absolutely must restrict the number of corners and free kicks around our box that we concede. That's a key route to goal for them; they have the most goals from set pieces in the league. 2

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 Put one through Lingard early on. Maybe a Hamza Special. They are obviously on form, but we have a better team IMO. Just need to be careful, play our game and go get revenge for losing at home earlier in the season.

Made us look incredibly ordinary. We’ve looked short of ideas in several games this season, but maybe none more so than this. A point would be good. A win would be immense.
jmono84 Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 Last game our defence had a shocker and made Antonio look like CR7! We are technically a much better team but they are a lot more physical. They will try and bully us but we have to hope our quality shines through. As long as our defenders don’t play as bad as last time then I fancy out chances. 1
Ric Flair Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 Ndidi is integral to this game, with him in there we likely win the midfield battle and that was what was evidently missing in the home game. No Soyuncu isn't great for set pieces but I'm quietly confident we can get a result there. Bowen was unreal vs us in that home game, he'll likely be Antonio's replacement if he is out. What a game this is, nothing but respect for what they are doing this season but we need the result so bollocks to um. 2
Collymore Posted 8 April 2021 Posted 8 April 2021 I wonder if the the lack of fans has been a blessing for West Ham as I remember hearing of a very negative atmosphere at their place. As for the game, you'd have to say a draw wouldn't be the end of the world, obviously we should be going for the win but a point a piece means one more game down without inflicting major damage to the table. 1

Atmosphere always seems toxic.

They are rubbish anyway so not sure if it'll make a massive difference with no fans but I couldn't believe the amount of hate emanating from the stands on a few games I attended. It is the polar opposite of our love for our owners, it couldn't be further apart.
