The big one was today..... for the future and development of this club.

Agree. But "the future and development of this club" requires that the manager have all that the genuine big 6 clubs have in terms of resources and squad depth. And it's clear that Brendan just does not have that available to him.

It's just going to be Deja Vu for him every season otherwise with the stop start to momentum caused by first team injury problems and not having strength in depth. Think he'll go in the Summer to a genuine big club. Hope I'm wrong but at this point it's just disingenuous to not acknowledge the pattern to our seasons.

In general we don't know how to play against teams like West Ham. They do all the basics right, defend compact as a unit and close down quickly. They don't give you much time on the ball, at least not anywhere it really matters, and when they win the ball they only think of going forward. We look great when we play against attacking teams whose fullbacks leave massive gaps either side of the central defenders, or whose back line play extremely high and let us pick out balls in behind, or whose precious midfielders are scared of a tackle. But when we play against an organised team who defend with discipline, love a good physical battle, and want to score every time they get the ball, we look like a team of frightened teenagers playing against a load of angry dads.

Kelechi's goal and Ricardo's nearly-moment aside, we have been outmatched in virtually every department for the entire game today. Generally speaking I don't think we have it in our locker at the moment. We've got a lot of fair-weather players who are well up for it when they have a lot of time and space to do what they're good at, but we don't have anyone who appears to actually relish a challenge and maybe get angry and demand more of everybody else when things aren't happening.

Was the same with Puel, dunno if it's the players or managers who bang on about possession football all week, the players are so focused on keeping and recycling the ball they forget they've got to actually work hard and bust a gut to win a game.

It’s as if we think a game is the same as the keep possession inside the square drill

What options did he have? Previously this formation has done alright. Perez would have started but was unable to because of stupidity. Rogers had no other option really, did he?

Yes lots! Perez shouldn't be anywhere near the team anyway. Think players in their right positions and dump the 3 at the back and cautious approach.

Rodgers may well be a good coach and man manager but we really need to lock him up in a cupboard on match days!
