Any recommendations for pubs before/after mate?

These guys have got a tap room about 5 mins walk from the ground https://www.bristolbeerfactory.co.uk/

And a little bit further out/back towards city there's a decent riverside pub called The Cottage Inn. That would be a good shout before stopping of at the tap room and then getting to the ground. About 20 min walk from Cottage to ground.

Was in Bris the other week and walked 'the Ostrich' pub in the docks, which made me chuckle.

I notice Nige has had them up at Loughborough Uni/Beacon Hill today.

Will keep an eye out for that.

Turns out I’m there in a couple of weeks now too, as well as late September, so I’ll have a good scope out before the second trip so I can find some pubs for the footy.

EFL are really sticking it to Derby.

At the moment they have nine senior players available, two of which are keepers. They have the likes of Jagielka, Stearman, Morrison etc on trial, but they can't sign them as under an embargo, you can't if you have 23 players of "senior standing".

Why do they have 23 and not 9? Because when their whole squad got wiped out due to a Covid outbreak in January, they had to play Chorley with a youth team. All those players now count under that senior classification, even though none of them have played a single first team game since.

It's almost as if they've got an axe to grind.

Forest and Derby are like a comedy duo. Neither of them learn from each other’s mistakes lol

A Bristol City player played for Portsmouth due to an injury and got the equaliser lol

https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/match-report-bristol-city-3-3-portsmouth/

'City’s young forward Marlee Francois was allowed to play for Portsmouth in the extra 30 minutes with Pompey lacking in numbers, and in a turn of events he ended up being the player to poach the equaliser.'
