Barcelona are willing to pay half of Brazil forward Philippe Coutinho's salary in an attempt to secure a loan move to Lazio for the 29-year-old. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Probably yeah but in toy managerial non realistic dreamland...

 

If there's no loan fee and we have to pay an extra circa 3.6 million to put him on 200k a week bumped up from a 130k a week (1.5 million) standard comparative outlay to our other top earners, then you could argue that 5 million quid is a decent price to pay for Coutinho for a year!

And the quickest way to do that is to get your agent to bang on the manager’s door and get you a new contract or threaten to leave. It’s a slippery slope.

At £90k a week, we might actually consider this. Would love to see us line up, with three behind the striker:

 

Coutinho - Maddison - Barnes

 

with Riccy bombing in past on the right, and Vardy/Patson/Nacho up top. Unstoppable tbf!

I'd take him if we can't get the boy from PSV.

 

Get him to 75% he will still be one of the better player in the PL.

His salary at Barca is something like 380k/week. 
 

He is on huge money, and the people offering these deals are the reason why they are in the sh*t. They need him gone, but he’s gonna need to take a massive pay cut.

Which is why the Barc are offering these deals, no one is going to pay him the money is on a Barc and no way is he will take a pay cut. 

 

The best they can hope for is someone loaning him and paying some of he's wages.

 

No different to what we had to do with Silva and Slimani for 2-3 years, just on a different scale.

If he was fully fit and in form somebody might take them up but he appears to be in decline, physically and form wise , so I can't see it happening.

I don't know how you've worked that out, but if they paid 40% (£59.2k) of £148k, we'd have to pay the remaining £88.8k

 

I think he's probably on a lot more than that, anyway.

He’s too expensive, too risky with his injuries, doesn’t play right wing, and his agent is a cancer.

 

And yet Tanner reported yesterday that we are not done in the transfer market.  (OK, he’s not well connected, but he must have got that somewheree inside the club.)  With all we’ve spent, we must be looking at loans? 

 

Maybe, just maybe …?
