It gives them an unfair advantage, when they come back on they’ll know if they need to go for 8

or just hold out for 7.

Yeah, I don't think it will make a difference now but it's not right at all.

I remember a Serie A title decider years ago that was delayed at half time due to a torrential storm. They didnt restart the other match until both were able to restart.

Well got to feel gutted for Northampton but credit to Bristol Rovers for getting the goals so far .

How thick are some of those Bristol Rovers fans? Invading the pitch, threatening the very result that they are prematurely celebrating.

If Swindon win the League Two play-offs, there'll be 4 clubs from the south-west getting promoted. Forest Green, Exeter and Bristol Rovers (flukily) are already up.

They got enough points over the course of a season and scored more than Northampton. What's flukey about it?

Wow. I feel sympathy for the Cobblers.

I live in Northampton and was in a pub right near Sixfields last week, it was packed with their fans praying for Mansfield and Port Vale to slip up, which they did.

I feel their pain as it's a very Leicester City thing to happen to them!

Something seriously wrong though.

How many times do a team need a stupid result and not get it?

Fans pitch invasion was wrong and Scunthorpe's team was wrong.

Yeah it seems pretty odd. If I was a Northampton fan I’d be fuming.

What an absolutely incredible result for Bristol Rovers,  needing to have a seven goal advantage over their opponents today  and achieving it will surely never be equalled. Living in the West Country for twenty years  have some very happy mates.

Well, playing against already-relegated Scunthorpe's teenagers was decidedly flukey imo. Northampton should complain about it to the EFL.

Average age of the Scunthorpe team was just 20.

Exactly what I was referring too.

Even the captain was younger than 20.

Something wrong there. I think Northampton would have every right to complain.

Surely Northampton knew there was a chance of this considering Scunthorpe were playing a free hit young team?

Its bad luck that the fixture fell in this way but its hardly dodgy.

Outstanding from Bristol Rovers, although I heard on the radio that Scunthorpe United fielded a very inexperienced team so I don't think Northampton will be too happy with that!

Nice to see Mansfield Town in the playoffs and a huge shoutout to Sutton United, just finishing outside the playoffs by a point in their debut season in the Football League, and great to see Exeter City win automatic promotion!

Dumb thing to do

17yr old keeper

Seven academy players

Payment due to Scunthorpe from player sale if Bristol got promoted

Bristol’s shot/goals ratio

The spectre of betting fraud

The entire match was suss af. Absolutely nothing will come of it, but I’m hoping Scunthorpe never scrape their way up - preferably withering and going tits up. Shit town, shit club.
