Happy to leave the drama to the Drama Queens. I'm on vacation until we face Wolves........or don't get a left footed right side attacker that can defend and press.(Madueke):fc:

Even now after year of being on here and reading tens of thousands of posts, the sheer stupidy of some of my fellow foxestalkers still takes me by surprise.

Been on a year and reading "tens of thousands of posts" ...

That's over 180 posts a day, Alan!

Well that's 180 mins + penalties (apart from my obscured view of KDH's effort) that I'd like to forget.

What a shambles of a preseason so far.

Whether you think it or not, it's been a s**t show and we've been playing it like a game of chess with Stevie Wonder making the moves.

Anyone else worried a bit?

Has Seagrave made them giddy?

What a mess of a preseason it has been so far.

Before you reply, none of this "it's fitness and it doesn't matter crap" we've had thousands of the faithful chase us around for the last few weeks. I've racked up miles with a young'un that's questioning the sport...

Sort it out lads please.

Not worried, really. I remember a spectacularly dull display away at Mansfield the pre-season we won the league, it's almost impossible to read into. We are rarely particularly gung-ho in friendlies.

Good shout. ....but I've rarely seen us be so **** when it comes to creating chances. We look so disjointed up top, it's worth mentioning at least...

These games are for match fitness and to have a look at some fringe and academy players.

I might care about the last friendly. But that's it. Getting worried at this stage is madness.

Usually they always have a good reason for doing what they do.

But for me this pre season they've been picking and choosing the teams too loosely. Effectively we've had 4 different teams so far over 4 x 45 minutes. We need to start to put the first 11 together.

seems clear to me the guys are just out for a run around and trying not to get injured. most of our key players are not even back from holiday yet.. QPR we might see some more purpose, and i would expect to see even more vs villareal before we go to wembley. you dont forget how to play football. just need minutes in the legs

Pre seasons about getting fit and trying a few different things out.

You get what you get if you pay to see it. As for watching these games on tv why waste your time. They are never serious affairs. 11 subs at HT shows how serious BR takes them. Yet grown men get upset by it 😂😂

We have been giving players time on the pitch.  We have had elevens a long wayfrom a first team.

We haven't even seen Schmeichel (or Ward), Castagne, Evans, Tielemans and Barnes yet (not expecting to see Justin for a while).  I mustn't forget Perez

We have seen potential from Mahswanise.

KDH has shown promise.  Sowah could be interesting.

Maddison and Thomas look on it.

Not worried at the moment.

I'm so glad there are some sensible people in this thread. The topic of pre-season friendlies winds me up every single year.

I don't know if it's #footballtwitter, the rise of social media and the seeming need to give a shit about every single thing that happens on and off the pitch, but pre-season is one of the biggest marketing cons in all of football. Come along and pay £20 to watch Wycombe v Leicester. The coaching team will experiment, change 11 players at half time and they're going to be building their fitness, but come along and pretend it's REAL DAMN IT!

Then after, we'll have 20 pages of weird fan-analysis as to who did well, who did shit, how we play, as if making 11 changes at half time isn't enough of a momentum killer for the game as it is.

This happens every single year, and every year they do not matter. I haven't researched, but I'd love to get a player/manager's perspective on how much credence is actually put on these games in comparison to the obsession by the fans and media. I guess it's just something to focus on.

As has also been said above, we haven't even seen a good number of our first teamers, so I'm genuinely unsure how people can make a judgement on these games. If we were playing our clear cut first XI in every game for 90 mins and getting battered 5-0 by Burton and Wycombe I might raise and eyebrow, but come on. Chill out and enjoy the summer.

22 Players have had 45mins give or take.

I'm sure as we move into QPR well see a core of players getting 60/70imins, then 90  in the next 2 games. based on their fitness and performance stats amongst other factors. I'd imagine it's pretty complicated these days. Well something along those lines.

I seem to recall us being shit during MONs pre-season games.

There’s a reason why no one bothered watching pre season matches years back, it’s nothing more than a training session, it’s only relatively recently that clubs have cottoned on to making money from them. If your travelling to watch the matches you need to accept that your not going to see the best game, it’s what pre season is, fitness, avoiding injuries, experimenting, using fringe and youth players, introducing new players to the squad, nothing more, you need to explain this to your Young’un.

I think we're intentionally approaching the season with less intensity. Bit of a risk but given we've absolutely folded in the final third of both the last 2 seasons, and the crammed nature of the last 11 months, possibly sensible.

I don't really pay much attention to pre season.

If we've scored 0 goals having played 3 games in the league then I'll worry.
