StanSP Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 It looks sensational. The stadium and plans in general are a world away from where we were a mere 13 years ago in League One.
Tomek Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 Do we have any indication for when construction work will start?
Speedwell 🦊 Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 It looks mighty impressive to me.40k seats and all that going on around it….Top notch. nothing will come close to it in the East Midlands

Or are we going to be left with the awful yellowish brick work around the south stand? It could stick out like a sore thumb, a very handsome looking sore thumb mind, but I'd like the rest of the stadium to kind of match If the images are accurate it shows that the stands behind each goal will be built out as well so that the west stand depth wraps right round to the east stand. currently the west stand butts out a few metres further further than the rest of the ground.
StanSP Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 Multi-storey car park is gonna be hell to get out of on any event day.

That will massively improve the facade if true

Which im sure they'd shift either way . No doubt these new private residents will object when the plans are released to expand the remaining parts of the stadium a few years down the line.
AKCJ Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 Just realised that Jamie Vardy probably won't play in front of 40k at the King Power. 2

Get a DJ in plenty of Chang beers and we can all get in there and party after smashing arsenal 4-0. Imagine the money they could make on post-game drinks with a proper venue. They’re missing a trick if they don’t put something like this on after games. My group of mates, like many others, will often head into town for food and drinks after the game, and the club have an opportunity now to keep us around for longer and encourage us to spend our money at the new facility instead. I’m sure that will be part of their thoughts.

Doesn’t even seem real anymore, I keep expecting to wake up and we’re still in league one. People on twitter are generally jealous of everything. Mainly because they spend all day on twitter whining! 21 minutes ago, Jimbo said: I may be a little picky with this, I love the proposal of what it's gonna turn into but my only concern at this time is With all that fancy brick work, structure and cladding on the new East stand, are they going to develop the exterior look of the whole stadium? I assume the plan will be further expansions over time, if the club keeps growing. I assume they will factor in the possibility to do the same to the Kop and Family stand in coming years, I suspect expanding the Main Stand would be a much bigger job that may require its closure or partial closure.
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 12 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 12 August 2021 (edited) Not sure if it's already been mentioned or not, but in case you were wondering about future capacity, or the capacity not being big enough: For me this is quite important. 40K capacity for the next 10 years is probably enough, but look at the biggest clubs commercially in the land, they all have 60K+ stadiums. If Leicester finish top 5/6 for the next decade, which is *possible* we'd need more than 40K seats! The demand would be there! Edited 12 August 2021 by StriderHiryu 10 1
lgfualol Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 Got goosebumps watching that. Hopefully they will implement the Greggs and bean bag seating area I've suggested over the years. 1

AjcW Posted 12 August 2021 Posted 12 August 2021 I think it was @Ric Flair who said it earlier, but I hope more detailed future plans include... - Re-Cladding the other three stands facades to fit in with new stand - Re-Decorating concourse areas to freshen up entire stadium - New seating in areas that aren't being expanded Obviously they probably wont do any of that if they're thinking more expansion will happen within two to three years. But if it's more like 'next stage will be 2030' then we really need to take the other areas of the stadium into consideration for a 'quick fix' otherwise they'll look odd next to all the shiny new bits. 1
