I'll be honest it's a confusing one but I can see why they gave it as offside. Same here. I'm surprised at the amount of people saying its the wrong decision.

tom27111 Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 That is the worst decision I've ever seen decided by VAR since Youri wasn't sent off against Wolves a couple of years ago. Am I right @The Bear?

trabuch Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 No doubt we'll get a thoroughly unbiased assessment of the disallowed goal at half time.

Corky Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Fabinho sliding in from yards away isn't intentionally playing the ball. 1
Hammo Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Imagine Klopp and every single Liverpool fan if a decision like that had gone against them at the other end.

No. The idea behind the rule is say if a defender heads it back from a hoof but cocks it up and the attacker is twenty yards behind him not interfering then the goal stands. In that example Fabinho has made a block to stop a pass to a non offside player / shot. It’s if they define that as what he is attempting and that’s why they haven’t given it. Vacamion Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Notwithstanding the VAR decision, that was atrocious defending to give Madrid that chance.

I got started on, the day after we won the fa cup final, after saying that supporting Liverpool is like subscribing to Netflix, inside a Leicester pub. Unfortunately they had the laugh with their goalkeeper scoring a winning goal. It is always like this. It’s a shame. None of these people have any connection to the club, got talking to a chap at the bar a minute ago who just said he woke up one day and decided to be one. Walkabout is full of fake Liverpool. Can’t wait for a Real Madrid goal to stand in here. 1

After Valverde touches it, it then travels in the opposite direction from Konates touch then back to Benzema off of Fabinho.
StanSP Posted 28 May 2022 Author Posted 28 May 2022 Why does Konate's touch not get taken into account? 1

Zear0 Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Peter Walton doesn't half speak shite. Accidentally played the ball whilst sliding in the intercept it.
UniFox21 Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Guess depends on your version of accidental. Fabinho has intended to be there to block the ball
Guest ttfn Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 What is Peter Walton talking about?! Does Valverde even touch it? I’m not sure he does in which case it’s a total non-discussion anyway.
CosbehFox Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 It’s a stupid rule though because an official has to assume a players intention. Which is nonsense. 1
