sacreblueits442 Posted 6 November 2021 Posted 6 November 2021 ....he looks really good, would love to see a player such as him in our team, one of our problems is the final ball, he does not seem to have that problem with delivery!!! Noticed those headed goals, it would be good if we had players competent of heading the ball.in that manner. 1

Yeah I agree but I'd like a wing back who can or has played as a winger so we can switch to 4231. With a limited squad it's hard to fit in wingers, wing backs and full backs. I think the lack of real wing backs is what we are missing with 5 atb.

As we haven't got two bonafide Wing Backs it is hard to say that the 3 at the back is not workable, but I feel the players are more comfortable playing with a 4 and for us to stop confusing the issue with the variations of a back three.

Lots of back heels well weighted passes, it is hard not to be impressed with what he Van de Beek) puts out on the pitch. You have to be aware as a teammate for the ball coming to you and as a team it seems you need to have a lot of possession for him to be effective. You want him to take a bit more responsibility on the ball but his speed of thought and unselfishness negates this and he is a big asset in a team with movement and attack minded. I would rather someone who can control the game, slow it up, play incisive passes and open teams up off a slow tempo, the "style" of play makes him, any thing off a slow tempo will not make him as effective. If we have to replace Youri, we will have to have the balance of leadership and an ability to open teams up. Not sure if we swapped Youri for Van de Beek we would be better off, unless Soumare can become the strong arm and rock, that we need as a sound foundation in this team. whomever we get to replace Youri we will likely be worse off, getting VDB as part of a deal would probably be the best we can do given the length remaining on his contract, £20m or so and VDB would be a good deal 1
Leicester_Loyal Posted 6 November 2021 Posted 6 November 2021 We could sign the worlds best players but it's not going to make much of a difference atm, the problem is systems and the basics. 3

CloudFox Posted 7 November 2021 Posted 7 November 2021 CB and left back should be our priorities in Jan. Problem is, we signed Bertrand and Vestergaard for those exact positions in the summer, they just haven't worked out yet. I think it's very unlikely we'll go for any first team players in Jan. Picking up some youth with potential would be very wise indeed though.

Me to, I think 3 CB's get in each others way, they are supposed to play wider to help the left and right wing backs but doesn't seem to happen, against Arsenal Luke Thomas was on his own with the 3 CB's narrow in the middle. With 4 at the back we've only got 2 real wingers and with 5 at the back only probably JJ and at a pinch Ricardo that can do the job as wing backs. The way Rodgers like his wingers to track back makes me think he would sooner play a wing back with 3 at the back and then the same player as a winger with 4 at the back. 1
Lambert09 Posted 7 November 2021 Posted 7 November 2021 I’d love us to keep an eye on furuhashi. for me he could be one to replace Vardy when he eventually retires. (As a 3rd choice) My main thinking is the fact that he is primarily a winger that is playing Cf for Celtic. So if he’s good enough we can get him in the 11. (Not have a daka type situation) 1

moore_94 Posted 8 November 2021 Posted 8 November 2021 Linked with Andrea Cambiaso who plays for Genoa, 21 years old Left footed left back/wing back who can also play right back - basically opposite of JJ and Castagne - would be useful to have So far this season has mainly be used as a left wing back (6 games), and a right back (5 games) https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/tmw-juve-forte-su-cambiaso-ma-anche-dall-estero-l-interesse-non-manca-1605975 Strong Juve on Cambiaso. But interest is not lacking even from abroad At his Serie A debut this season, Andrea Cambiaso immediately showed his qualities. In a difficult season for Genoa, the 2000 class winger has been able to attract the attention of prestigious clubs. in Italy Juventus seems to be a hot hypothesis, but the eyes of Milan and Fiorentina are also on him. From abroad, however, Leicester, Seville, Dortmund and Watford asked for information about him. 2
Ric Flair Posted 9 November 2021 Posted 9 November 2021 Still think we need a left footed winger/ACM who can play there or behind the strikers. Failing that I do think at the very least we need another ACM as Perez isn't good enough to challenge Maddison for that role. Carvalho at Fulham is destined to be picked up by a PL team for under £10m this season/summer. 1 1
Gazza3 Posted 9 November 2021 Posted 9 November 2021 Defensive coach specialising in defending near post corners please

I really hope not, it baffles me why we've moved our recruitment model on from young and possibly unproven players to slightly more experienced, as it hasn't actually improved us particularly in the success of our signings in the last couple of years. You can tell when certain players will make the step up like we saw with Bowen, Watkins, Eze, Olise and this lad will be the same. A no brainer at the price he'll go for as well given his contract is up. I'd not be surprised to see him stay in London frustratingly and given Fulham look a shoe in to come back up and that still doesn't seem to interest him, he'll probably go to Chelsea or Spurs IMO. 1
