Soumare is rank, I'm sorry but he's lazy as fvck and offers nothing.

I genuinely think we would win that Europa conference thing so it's a win win in Naples

Unfortunately, whilst I really want to disagree with you re Soumare he was a tad woeful at times tonight. Caught the wrong side of his player multiple times and jogging after them. Wilf never ends up chasing his man like that. It was a worry to watch at times.

He played 2 or 3 passes tonight through the lines that Soumare isn't doing. He also tracked runners going the other way that Soumare isn't doing. I'm sure Soumare will improve but right now he is not reliable enough. KDH might not be either but deserves that opportunity to play surrounded by our best players.

I think they have very different skill sets and if you merged them you'd have a complete player. However for me Soumaré is the more talented with a much higher ceiling and we should persevere with him over KDH homegrown or not.

Good performance against a poor team. Something to build on at the very least.

Lets hope Maddison and Barnes continue their form going forward. Soyuncu looks so much more composed in a back 4 too.

Thought we totally controlled the game in the 2nd half and they barely had a sniff.

A job well done. They couldn't cope with our attacking threat. Defensively we're uncomfortable, Watford will prove more of a test I'm sure. To be fair to Legia they gave it a good go, clear to see they are quite a poor side but the effort was there.

Doesnt tell us a great deal. Definitely didnt fill with me with confidence.

KDH needs to start ahead of Soumare on Sunday, purely to stop our midfield being a sieve.

Don't think soumare is that bad, his strength on the ball is great. However, not sure why he has all the starts over kdh. Is it because we paid lots of money for him

Tonight represents progress, the right match at the right time for us. Far from perfect and Watford will be a tougher game but I’d go in with the same game plan and aim to better the performance

Thought we were good first half. Stood off second half but luckily they were shit.

Hope all the cops get home safely. Don't need to see scenes like that. Cops literally tumbling down the stand.

Soumare isn't the more promising in a creative role though, he makes Papy Mendy look like Pirlo. With Tielemans out and a run of easier fixtures, we don't need a combative player like Soumare who isn't doing that very well either. He'll get more games as the season goes but it told on Saturday and at times tonight that Ndidi and Soumare together on the ball are limited and we need to maximise our supply lines right now whilst we're less reliant the confidence we'll win matches automatically.

A wins a win and we needed that under a little pressure. Some good intensity and performances. Barnes was probably MoTM.

I still go into the Watford game with big worries though. I was disappointed with how easily they ran through our midfield at times in the first half. I’m not sure what sort of midfielder Soumare is supposed to be: passing doesn’t look great, positionally suspect and defensively weak. He can carry the ball reasonably well when not challenged I suppose. With such a weak midfield and a defence that still look like they’ve got a mistake in them I’m worried Watford could expose us once again.

Legia were defensively poor and made it easy for us to get at them. Delighted that we took advantage and won relatively easily, but just not quite sure we’ve got it sussed just yet on the strength of that performance

Pleased with the deserved win that puts our destiny in our own hands in the group. The first two goals were good and good if surprising to get the third from a corner.

Thought Barnes' pace made a big difference. KDH had nice cameo and good touches from Perez.

Some defensive shakiness first half. Castagne has gone backwards. He had a pasting from Dan James for Belgium last week. He looks vulnerable one on one. Amartey, one awful error aside was solid enough.

Midfield still poor. Ndidi sloppy and Soumare is just too slow atm.

Legia are poor so difficult to judge too much. Still, will take the win and hopefully the confidence from it. Watford will be different kettle of fish though.

Has Soumare been getting pelters? lol

I feel for the lad as weve not utilised his main skillset, but you cant have a player letting his man run past him constantly and not being able to get back and win the ball back.

I encourage anybody to watch that back and count how many times it happened.

Excellent post.

The set up is still woeful. It's telling that I was RELIEVED to see Perez brought on. Previously my bete noire.

We need a much sturdier set up u til we build some form. Perez, Albrighton, Choudhury, Mendy (if only he was available)....all.of whom.can be relied upon to fall into position and pick up runners.

Thought Big Dan and Cags were fine. I echo my point again....it's not the defence as such. Our defensive woes is caused by the set up. Maddets, Barnes, Lookman and Soumare can't fall into position and track runners to save their lives.

We also big time need the fcking ball to stick up front for more than one bounce. Kel wpild help that

Soumaré is class I don't see how others don't see it. Has all the qualities to be a really top player. Young and away from his home now but he'll kick on.

Compared to KDH, who is a good player but he'll never be a world beater. The best he's ever going to be is a James Ward Prowse type and even that's a stretch.

Decent performance. Defensively, especially first half, we weren’t great. Going forward, as we have shown in parts this season already, we are a good watch.

Let’s build some confidence from this boys.

Maddison superb, good to see him getting back to his levels. Barnes very good too. Thomas really surprised me in the first half especially with how positive he was, normally is always sideways and backwards but was good to see him being positive.

For some reason Soumare and Ndidi just doesn’t seem to work together, not really dovetailing well and that central area always seems so exposed when they are both playing.

Lookmam very poor
