Extending the season by two weeks got to happen now. Theres no major tournament in the summer. It's either that or the premier league must stress to the clubs that instead pleading to get games called off push to get games on.

I don't think teams are pulling a fast one.

A fixture pile up in a potential problem for all clubs.

They are just taking advantage of the rules potentially I guess in some cases .

Apparently Arsenal only actually have one COVID case ..

Perhaps.  They may be an example , Europe free, of a club who could benefit later in the season.

Last week, Leicester  needed one case to call off a game.

Trainline on a deit card unfortunately. Won't even let me cash in or swap for a trip to Wolverhampton in February either.

Trying calling and saying you’ve got symptoms. Worked for me a few times when things like this occur. Don’t donate £50 to these thugs

Even though we’ve benefitted from it, most notably the Spurs game, I think it’s a ridiculous idea to cancel games due to COVID. Teams can be unlucky with having half the XI out due to muscle injuries which the Premier League accepts, so why can’t the Premier League accept that teams are going to get unlucky with covid cases. The time has come where we just have to crack on with it and play whatever players are available.

Clubs are beginning to take the p**s now, take Arsenal for example they are sending players out on loan and have Xhaka suspended so want tomorrow's game called off.

I disagree I think it’s a total joke the clubs should be embarrassed they treat fans like that, constantly postponing games hiding behind Covid when it’s the injuries are the real reason they don’t want to play, and then it’s Burnley don’t want to play because they sold Chris Wood. Absolutely ridiculous. I’d be fuming if I’d organised a trip to watch this match, spent money going up there and accommodations possibly. It’s an embarrassment.

...it depends if the players going out on loan have met the criteria of the F.A. as having g reached a suitably qualified standard!!!

You would have had to have played in x amount of Premier league games in order to gain that classification.

...I  do not believe Covid or injuries make a difference in the ruling if a game can be postponed!!!

The criteria is available players not the reason why they are unavailable.

This is open to be abused by some clubs, but we are not party to what is going on at other clubs and we were receiving negative comments from people unaware of our own circumstances.

As for outlay to travel to watch a game, that is really a chance you are taking, especially because you would have been aware of previous cancellations being made and mostly at short notice.

I hope your card company takes a look at it again and decide that a refund is something that they can do.

True on the Travel part but it’s unfair that we have to lose money given we’re apparently ‘all in this together’ - train companies are quick to cancel trains if it suits them, therefore should refund tickets if covid related disruptions curtail travel plans. Obviously they won’t do that so I urge anyone who’s got travel paid for to call their provider saying they are unable to travel due to symptoms, and get their money back in cash. URGE.

off topic rant over..

Well now the AFCON can be used as an excuse to get games off ..

To be absolutely fair, having three internationals in the lower leagues is enough of a reason to have matches postponed.

Part of the issue with the AFCON is that clubs lose players for a month, they remain in the squad, you can't replace them so in effect the 25-man squad is reduced without injuries and Covid then being a factor.

It has made the issue around postponing matches more complex, ordinarily international games wouldn't be included as there's no clash.

Really can’t understand Burnley not wanting to play us now. We are down to the bear bones in defence, have two strikers out and a third who was 50/50 to be available and are also missing Wilf. They must really be struggling to not want to play us today.

I think it’s because Wood was sold and they don’t have any decent strikers available and have not had enough time to buy another striker !!
