Its still irrelevant, teams can't sell players and then get games called off. I'm not saying they haven't got injuries but something stinks here.

what do you suggest they do about a player who they have no option but to sell ??  They couldn’t refuse to sell him.

Haven't we only postponed 1 game?

Am I correct in thinking we’ve now had 5 games called off, and despite all of our injuries, the only one we’ve requested is the Everton game, which was rescheduled by the PL to a weird time.

No we requested Spurs and both Everton games

we are responsible for two fixtures (one twice) and the opposition for two fixtures

we are not in any position to throw any stones ….

What's funny is that pub teams are still managing to play every Sunday without issue yet Premier League teams, the pinnacle of world soccer, can't field 11 players.

It's comical.

For an association and league that is so 'pro' grass roots and youth, why are they not allowing an expansion of premier league squads and making clubs play with youth players. So what, Man City will run away with the league? They already have!

Not sure the pub teams are following the same sort of rules as the premier League mate.

It is a bit of a joke but the league opened the flood gates and now are struggling to shut them.

I think most of us accept that? Matchgoing fans just an afterthought as usual.

I actually want to see some away football at the WEEKEND.  I've got tickets for Everton, Burnley, I'm guessing these will be midweek now as there aren't the gaps at the weekend, see Spurs and if we continue in the FA Cup & .

We would have won tomorrow as well.  We had Nelson/McAteer/Daley-Campbell on the bench vs Man C & Liverpool, we had the bare bones but we played.

Nice. I’ll probably go to St Albans v cheshunt in the fa trophy. Only 10 mins up the road for me and cracking/numerous pubs in St Albans

Where are you based grobyfox?

Theres a hefty chunk of price money and tv money to be had in both Europe and FA Cup. Commercially as wel probably a bigger benefit than finishing 10th over 14th

The FA Cup winners get £1.8 million.. its an absolute pittance. Premier league money per each higher position is far higher

I dread to think how bad our signings will be if a load of Southampton defenders is what we get off the back of 5th.

If this season is going to be a forcing of sacking off a winnable European competition (regardless of what you think of the tournament itself) and an FA Cup where we're away at our main rivals in favour of finishing 10th in an already clustered, farcical, integrity deprived Premier League then count me out. Yet I fear that's exactly what it's going to be.

People who think this is in any way an advantage for us are being incredibly short-sighted. There is literally nothing good about this. We're in a poor state but so are Burnley, and I'd give them the stronger chance of being in a better state by the time we rearrange it given they'll have Wood replaced and we'll still be operating with a medical team of saboteurs playing every three days anyway.

This and Norwich have got to be played over that international break.

Ive said concentrate on Europe and the Prem?

The fact we have Forest takes precedence for me. We cannot throw that.

Europe will be the fall here. I think Randers might knock us out.

The positive of this is that our players are further rested for Spurs and some future fixture congestion. Given that Daka, Soyuncu, Justin and maybe a couple of others were earmarked to be half fit for tomorrow, at least they should be in better condition for the Spurs game?

Were you thinking about this when Youri spanked it in from 35 yards?

Ive already said it would be far more important if we hadnt won it last year. Would much rather a higher prem finish and a Europa Conference win to take us back into Europe this year

Sold because of a release clause in his contract.  So there was no option to retain him, even for another week.

The talk is that the release clause did not kick in until the summer, and Burnley decided to cash in now.

Initial talk was that it was an instant release clause, second talk was that it applied only in summer, third talk was that it was an instant clause after all.  We don't have a definitive answer, but best guess is that he was sold against the club's wishes.

Doesn't really matter seeing as we're consistently picking up injuries in training.

Was about to say this. If lads who were due back aren’t ready for Spurs now, I don’t want to see a single post defending Rodgers and his backroom staff like we had a couple weeks ago.
