I know I'm setting myself to be shot down here... But I'm a little worried we're going to have another Matty James situation by giving long contracts to players slowly coming back from big injuries.

I agree though not with JJ’s new contract. It’s the Ricardo P very long contract that could be injury plagued. Two years would have been more sensible. I think JJ contract is great news.

JJ! This is delightful news, he'll be the best all round english full back if he remains injury free for the next 18 months. He's got 7 months to get himself into Southgates plans for the world cup

Smash it JJ

I think in the case of Pereira and JJ we have turned a negative into a positive as it was probably a lot easier getting them to sign long term contracts with their injuries than it may have been had they been fully fit this season and playing at the top of their game. If we can keep them fit then we have top 4 level full backs on long term contracts. It's just sorting out the rest of the defence that we have to make a priority in the summer. With a fit Fofana back as well we are 3 quarters of the way there we just need a really good CB and better backup, Evans is probably done as a starting CB with his injuries but great backup. Fofana may well be sold to a major club though for huge money if he comes back to anywhere near the level we know he can be but at least we have our full backs sorted now for a while.

Wow. All these players signing new contract for, according to this board, a manager they don’t want to play for.   There’s a thing!!

They have inserted a clause in their contracts that if the manager approval falls below 50% on here for 3 consecutive weeks, Rodgers gets the sack.

Excellent news that Justin has signed a new deal. Superb athlete and a top full back. Glad we have him tied down for the foreseeable future.

That's Ricardo, Castagne and Justin all tied up until 2025 or 2026. Thomas is 2024 but would be easy enough to extend if we wanted to. If everyone is fit and injury free then we have an excellent quartet with 3/4 being capable of play both sides. If we can flip Bertrand in the summer for a nominal fee or just release him from his contract then even better.
