Beyond happy that we won but the subs really baffled me, understand Timmy going off as he’s just come back but why for Johnny Evans when we had Thomas and Ricardo on the bench, then to move Amartey who’s been our best CB so far this season to RB where his game completely dropped for the last 25 mins or so, in hindsight it doesn’t matter but really odd change that didn’t need to be done the way Brendan done it

Iheanacho led the line brilliantly and Castagne and Justin were brilliant. 

Typical Rodgers performance kept control of the game until the last ten minutes...why would he change it ?

Why change it? KDH tiring and picked up a booking. Better to not have him suspended. Also, we won.

We can't seem to sort that out, it has been happening for too long and we need a change of players, as we are not having it coached into us. Rodgers elected to keep three back at corners and that was a brave and flexible approach to the game, unfortunately we failed to get the ball to break on them in those situations. 

 You get the thought that Rodgers has been getting feedback, and FT has had a big feature on this way of dealing with set pieces, you can't say that this is a coincidence, far too much of a shift in Rodgers attitude to not have been influenced.

Another squeaky bum finish, and thankfully Kasper making a couple of good saves. Thought the lads looked knackered by the end. Good to have a couple of weeks off, but possibly Jakupovic if Kasper hasn’t recovered on the return.

Made harder work of it than we needed too but played pretty well on the whole.

Thought the substitutions were a bit weird again.

We had a terrific first half, started the second half just as well, but failed to take opportunities and their good have been a fistful of goals. failing to make the right pass, holding on to balls too long, blinkered in respect of the players around them, we need to be ruthless, and that is picking  our passes and playing the right balls at the right times, we do tend to overplay when we are on top, you do not become a top 4 team with that mentality.

Good performance today and great win.

 

Confidence is definitely coming back, looked very comfortable on the ball and defended well for the most part.

 

Not long ago we probably would have conceded an equaliser so I think we should take the positives.

 

Seeing a lot of criticism of the subs, I personally didn’t see an issue with them. Brendan clearly wanted to give Evans some game time so that sub was logical - the others were just fresh legs. Brendan kept our formation positive. Had he gone 5 at the back no doubt people would’ve complained about the negativity. Also liked that we put 3 players on the halfway line when defending corners.

We won, 2 cracking goals , 2 weeks off to hopefully get a fitter squad , off the back off Thursday as well, it’s a sunny day, yes our game management was not great , but we won so I’m happy. Staggering how many people seemed to leave at 90 minutes, help see the lads through.

The Brentford young player Baptista who came on for them in the second half made them play better and broke up are play.
