Is that right? You must have done some counting…

The Europa Conference League squad had to be submitted in early Feb - at a time when Mendy had played wonderfully in getting Senegal to the Africa Cup of Nations final (which they went on to win, with Mendy voted into the official Team of the Tournament). Was Rodgers watching him, or indeed getting advice to do so, I wonder?…

You can defend the decision to pick the likes of Soumare and Perez in the squad ahead of him all you like, but in my opinion - and I said it at the time, long before Ndidi got injured - making Mendy ineligible for Europe was a strange move. It even made me think back to Ajax accidentally leaving Haller out of their Europa League squad last year…

Let’s just hope his absence - and the control that he brings to our midfield - doesn’t come back to haunt us on Thursday. 🤞

I always Wanted him to stay...I found the last few weeks posts rather ironic,

because in this forum for the last 3 seasons, seemed more interested in putting him down..!!

Excellent post.

I am broadly pro Rodgers but Mendy's omission should be probed and questioned by the media. Particularly that we chose to select 3 goalkeepers, when 2 would've been ample plus an emergency third drafted in from the youth set up.

It'll always be conjecture but I reckon with Papy missing, we will blow a golden chance for European silverware

Hindsight can be a wonderful thing, also going in with only 2 keepers would have been foolhardy in the extreme, Rodgers would have been slaughtered if we did that and Kasper picked up an injury.

Not hindsight, as the previous poster said, some of us thought this from the get go.

If kasper got injured, then Ward or Jakuplc woild step in (whoever was selected as number 2) .....just like they would anyway.

If freakishly the no 2 also got injured, then the yout keeper could come in instead of Jakupovic (can there really be THAT much difference between our third choice and the u_23 keeper? Rhetorical btw)

All square and everything to play for. Mendy ain’t playing. It’s a shame, as with Vardy and ndidi but shut happens. Get on with it and we can still do this.
I don’t think we should try to start on a defensive footing as we will play in our own half concede and then go chasing the game. We should try and reproduce what we did in the first half on Sunday. High pressing and high tempo. Win the second balls and play in their half.

Kasper

justin/riccardo fofana evans castagne

 tielemans kdh maddison

Albrighton/lookman Daka/kel barnes

Enough to see us through to our first European semi final.

I think you should give other forum posters a bit more slack/credit rather than constantly running them down.

I think the majority of the team picks itself, don’t see any drastic changes in CM, expect it’ll be the same 3 as the first leg. I would go JJ over Ricky at RB, I like JJ’s extra pace and think it gives us more energy down the wing.

My team / expected team is:

                 Kasper

       JJ   Evans   Fof   Castagne

          Youri  Madders  KDH

Albrighton       Nacho        Barnes

They’re crap, we should be brushing them aside. If we were a touch more clinical last Thursday, we’d already be well up. Time to stop pissing your pants in front of goal without Vardy on the pitch, lads. If we take our chances, PSV cannot live with us.

We can do this easily- Barnes needs to be a bit less selfish or more clinical I don’t care which and whoever plays upfront needs to be clinical, if so we can easily brush them aside

I reckon the players/club deserve some slack from repetitive Toxic easy to attack...posts.

No matter how I and  others Express it...

Its Not the knee-jerk opinions, but chronic negative constant posts on individuals, some get fed up of a/their pastime being used for others

to continually get their negative rocks off.

This is how it was been since promotion...It used to be more e a balanced, humerous, witty site ( Football-relevant posts/topics)...some of the Agenda have

driven fair/Even with sarcastic Posters away....So I & others Post probably naivily, at times to weigh-up a better balance...

Plus I find it amusing ( Not haha but yuk), that some first cyynically jump over new incomers, or just Basic mistakes that its become boring..

Other topics Show we have a fair, witty, emotional,  balanced thread, with the odd clashes...

Everybody has that right to have any opinion,

But when People Think it goes too cynical, OTT or out of hand...isnt it therefore obvious there are other opinions

who dont want such regulär negatives to be become " run of the norm"

that we are doing nothing but running down everyweek the very players/club/ we support..

Aint it Funny/ironic People who declare their right to an opinion, complain when others Pick up the other chalice...

I accept even the OTT Toxic posts...I just play against their opinions, to Show the other side....

I am Not or Play Mr Righteous, but Happy just to be as cynical to try to turn the opinions around....

I mean FT cant  Honestly Pick a player can they...?? & do have an Hair -trigger when players make the littlelest of mistakes...

Support, encourage is more my First thing...Not Rattle out others errors...

We lie and cheat our way to the semis and don't have to play a back 3.

I've been looking forward to this all week, but having now just watched the Chelsea match, it's dawned on me just how stressful this could get!

Had the exact same thought watching that too.

I’m fairly sure you have to select three.

If we had more home grown players, we would have this problem - we can only name 24 and we were cautious given defensive injuries.

Perez was the obvious replacement

I’m not sure I buy the confidence that people are extracting from PSV’s first leg performance. I’m sure they are saying the same about us.

I’m having flashbacks to the Slavia tie last year when there was a real arrogance after the first leg from the manager and players. Lots of moaning about the pitch and comments about us beating them once we get them to the KP. I think they felt like it would be a walk in the park on our pitch but instead we put in a really flat, low energy performance and Slavia deservedly won.

PSV played very conservatively in the first leg but will no doubt play more of their natural game tomorrow. Add to that the fact they have home advantage and it’s clear that we are going to need to play well to beat them.

Don’t know why but can see Rodgers going with a back 5. Obviously Lookman will be wide rather than as a second forward.

Yes, I am preparing for heartbreak, but that is because I am a Leicester fan. I am hoping that we are confident after the Palace game, and that we play our best. If we are outplayed, so be it; but if we put in a lackluster, low energy performance, I will be sick to my stomach.

If we do go out I can't see it being a comfortable 3-0 defeat, it will be the most heartbreaking and Leicester way possible.

Last minute goal, leading then throwing it away, penalties or something along those lines.
