I don't mind him and can admit he isn't great and the goal was dreadful but I can also acknowledge that without European football and injuries next year he probably plays 5 games.

I think the biggest problem with how we play now is that barely a single player is willing to take the opposition on with the ball anymore. Granted Barnes tries, but you look at the top teams in the league and they all have those 2 or 3 players that will beat a man and keep the ball moving forward quickly.

 

Our automatic reaction when we meet an opposition player is to pass the ball and that pass usually ends up being backwards which slows or ends the attack.

I can only assume that comes from BR obsession with high possession. Players are terrified of losing the ball.
